Crema's Take
“Tucked inside the Charleston Place Hotel, this espresso-focused spot punches above its weight with an exceptional nitro cold brew and creative specialty drinks like their honey latte that keep locals coming back. The pastry game is legitimately strong here—fresh croissants and donuts earn serious praise—and the barista Alexey brings genuine warmth that makes the experience feel personal rather than transactional. It's a refreshingly low-pressure gem that avoids the tourist crowds while delivering some of the best coffee in Charleston.”

We visited Community Perk, located inside The Charleston Place Hotel, and tried their croissants and a macaron. Unfortunately, they did not meet our expectations. The croissants were not fresh and lacked crispiness, although the cream fillings were nice. We tried the pistachio and the blueberry/lemon meringue ones. Paid $26 for two croissants and one macaron — far too expensive for such average flavors!
This was probably the best coffee we had in Charleston! I absolutely recommend stopping in here. While prices are not listed, it's basically the same you would pay at any other coffee shop, but you will have an amazing drink! It's absolutely worth stopping in! It only took a couple minutes for both drinks. 1,000% recommend!
Community Perk has become my go to coffee shop! They recently added some new pastries and breakfast sandwiches that are delicious - definitely try the donuts and the biscuit sandwich. The people who work there are really friendly and helpful too.
My favorite little coffee spot! It’s definitely a hidden gem, tucked inside the beautiful Charleston Place hotel and rarely ever has too long of a line because of that. Alexey is a delight and the sweet treats are unmatched!!
Excellent nitro cold brew and specialty honey latte. Pastries were insane! So good! Best croissant. Alexey helped us and was awesome
