Maps Bar
64 Market St, Portland, ME
Crema's Take
“Maps Bar is a vinyl-spinning Portland gem where vintage cartography meets craft cocktails, creating an immersive atmosphere that feels genuinely curated rather than trendy. The bartenders are passionate about both their drinks and the vibe they're creating—expect creative specialty cocktails, thoughtful traditional options, and a carefully selected soundtrack that makes lingering over your drink feel like the whole point. It's the kind of place where out-of-town friends immediately want to return, and where the decor (those old maps everywhere) is reason enough to explore every corner.”

Such a great spot! Records playing tunes we all dig. Bartender was super friendly. Delicious drink options, and a HAPPY HOUR! We brought friends from out of town and they cant wait to come back to Portland just so we can come back to Maps! Easily 10/10. Love this place
This was the worst place I’ve ever been to. DO NOT GO HERE!! The bartender was the rudest person I’ve ever met. Ask for a marg with some jalapeños. Bartender said no problem then gives me plain Rita. I asked since I didn’t get what I asked for if I could get a glass of wine. The bartender then said “if I paid for it” when he was the one who made the wrong drink. He then proceeded to say “I don’t have time for this”! So nasty! Then he proceeded to tell me I was ruining his day! Are you kidding?? TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! Place. We also asked for an Octoberfest beer he said sure, then gave us the wrong beer. Don’t waste your time in this dump!! GO TO CUTIES NEXT DOOR!! Way better!!! ****pic of bartender below*******
It feels like all the moons are in alignment when you are in Maps and the bartender slides Fever to Tell on the turntable and it gets to Side 2 song 2…..🤯. Great ambiance that u seem to only find in subterranean watering holes. And the cake was delicious.
Cozy place to grab a beer or a good cocktail. From what I could tell it's prices were a little better than other cocktail bars in the area. They have a ton of old maps everywhere that are cool to look at.
In town for a short trip, stopped in for a quick drink, and immediately loved the vibe. We took our time exploring the space. Very cool. Vinyl spinning on the turntable, vintage maps displayed throughout. Very unique and thoughtfully decorated venue.
