The Newark Standard

Crema's Take
“The Newark Standard is a warm, intimate spot that nails the breakfast game with oversized, flavor-packed bagel sandwiches and omelettes alongside thoughtfully crafted beverages—their strawberry matcha with vanilla, caramel, and oat milk has already converted first-time matcha drinkers. The team here genuinely cares about making your visit special, whether you're stopping by solo for a birthday breakfast or gathering colleagues for a meeting, and they've created exactly the kind of inviting neighborhood cafe where the hospitality matches the quality of the food. Fair warning: the prices are a step above casual chains, but customers consistently agree the freshness and generosity of portions justify splurging regularly.”

Food was delicious! It was my turn to choose the restaurant for a team meeting. The omelettes, bagel sandwiches, and potatoes were extremely tasty. And it was all delivery! The food was still really warm and tasted fresh. Would definitely recommend eating here.
Tried Standard Cafe in Jersey today and it was so good! I got a strawberry matcha with vanilla, caramel, and oat milk , my first time trying matcha and I’m obsessed. 🤩 Had a breakfast wrap with hash brown, turkey ham, bacon, and eggs… so delicious. Cute cafe vibes and the service was super helpful too!
Breakfast bagel was ELITE! Breakfast wrap was AMAZING! Potatoes on the side were full of flavor & soft. Hot tea was a vibe. Customer service from the friendly girl was on point! Small, quaint, cute little cafe on Mon & Tues! Definitely going back next time in town! GO HERE & support local, you’ll love it!
I visited The Standard Café for breakfast, and it happened to be my birthday—which made the whole experience extra special. From start to finish, everything was wonderful. The ambience is warm and inviting, and the service was excellent—attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely friendly. When our food took a little longer, they gave us a shot to make up for it, which was such a fun and unexpected gesture. Even more surprising, the staff came out to sing happy birthday without anyone asking—it truly made me feel celebrated. The food was worth the wait, the mimosas were delicious and affordable, and the entire experience felt above and beyond. Even though I don’t live in the area, I’d happily come back again
Food was delicious. The price felt a bit high for a breakfast sandwich but it was packed with flavor and freshness. I am willing to return to try other options from their menu on less frequent occasions. The service was also excellent. Camille was serving me and she was wonderful. Cons: a bit pricy & difficult to find parking Pros: delicious food, great service, pleasant ambiance
