Shades of Brown Coffee and Art
3302 S Peoria Ave, Tulsa, OK
Crema's Take
“Shades of Brown marries excellent specialty coffee with genuine art gallery vibes, featuring creative drinks like the cardigan bee latte served in cool handmade pottery while local artists' work adorns the walls. The spacious, eclectic interior offers plenty of seating options, books, and magazines, making it equally suited for lingering solo with a laptop or meeting friends over chai and conversation. Just know that the artsy, sometimes boho atmosphere can shift with the music and crowd energy, but this Tulsa spot clearly resonates with people seeking something beyond the typical coffee shop experience.”

I had the cardigan bee latte and it was delicious. The mug was super cool pottery. There were lots of options for seating, and a selection of books and magazines to read. I would definitely go back!
Came in this evening and there was heavy metal music playing all evening long, very disturbing when you’re trying to have a decent conversation with friends. Definitely different atmosphere now then before. Coffee was still good.
I enjoy this coffee shop. It has an interesting, eclectic, artsy feel. I like that they support local artists and the coffee is delicious as well as the chai. Last time I went, a couple of the patrons were very loudly pontificating beside the bench my husband and I were on. They were so close, so unnecessarily loud, and so annoying that it really ruined the atmosphere. Not the coffee shop's fault, however. The last vist was an anomaly because overall, I've enjoyed my visits.
Shades of Brown was really nice with a hipster vibe. The coffee was tasty and the atmosphere was boho. The only bad thing was that there was no seating. It was too cold to sit outside. This wasnt the coffee shop's fault, I probably just visited at a busy time. Overall, 5 stars!
Found this gem 💎 on a visit to Tulsa and was pleasantly surprised! It was poppin in the neighborhood so parking took a minute. Upon walking in I was surprised by how spacious and cozy it was inside. There are multiple rooms with different types of seating and lots of folks in there reading and working 💜 I tried the Velvet Underground with oat milk and half sweet and it was DELICIOUS! The barista was so sweet to me and everyone, helpful, knowledgeable about the menu and answered lots of questions. Stayed to read my book for a while and it was so lovely. Would def be back anytime I’m in the neighborhood ☕️
