Waterbean Coffee
3607 Whitehall Park Dr, Charlotte, NC
Crema's Take
“Waterbean is a Charlotte gem where the espresso drinks genuinely shine—think hazelnut vanilla lattes with oat milk and chai lattes that rival the best you've had—and the cozy cafe atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to linger over breakfast. Their pastries and light food offerings pair beautifully with carefully crafted coffee, and while prices are fair for the quality, the experience is best on their strong days when the barista care matches the quality of their beans.”

The Chai latte was one of thee best I've ever had. The prices are pretty good for what you get. Turkey and cheese croissant was pretty decent too. One of my faves for now.
I’ve been to this location of Waterbean twice. I’ve ordered for take-out and dine-in. And they both happened to be on Saturday morning. I will say both times this was my experience: food is pretty good (ordered their morning sunshine breakfast sandwich both times); the pricing is fair for the portions you get; the variety of types of coffee/tea is great. Their service is what hurts this review. While receiving my food for take-out, I first confirmed my order and asked if my entire order was in the box, to which they said yes, so I didn’t bother checking. It was not until I went home and opened that I was missing a sandwich. I had to go back. And during dine-in, I noticed a lot of people were waiting for a long time for their order or they were given the wrong order. I do believe they are understaffed as they were constantly busy during the Saturday mornings and there was one person handling many things. And that goes to the atmosphere; it’s a cute, small cafe with seating available. There is even bar seating but because they are understaffed they can’t clean up as often and some seatings are left unattended.
This place is located in a good area. easy access and plenty of parking. If you are someone like me that love a good coffee with not a lot of combinations, you are going to feel overwhelmed like me when you put your eyes on the menu when looking for a good coffee. Too many options of different brewing styles, including different type and origination of the grain. I ordered a single latte not sugar, not edulcorant with a premade brownie. I made the mistake to ask to warm the brownie. Not sure how long the server heat it, but she placed in a plastic container. It was too hot that the container melt due to the heat. Not a good experience for sure.
Some of the best, local coffee I’ve ever had! I had the hazelnut vanilla latte with oat milk and it was sooo good. The cafe vibe and environment was amazing, and the staff were helpful and friendly too.
The breakfast sandwich was good. The coffee is not as expected ! We ordered Latte, There was no foam! the atmosphere is nice. However, I think the service could be improved. The barista didn’t seem very cheerful or welcoming, and as a customer, I expect a bit more warmth and friendliness.
