Crema's Take
“Tucked into downtown Staunton, this quaint bistro-style cafe transports you to a French countryside the moment you step into its intimate downstairs dining room, where every visit feels like a cherished ritual. Beyond the exceptional fresh lemonades and made-to-order sandwiches that locals have relied on for years, it's the unhurried, welcoming atmosphere that keeps people coming back—perfect for lingering over lunch with friends or savoring a quiet afternoon without rushing.”

We stop in for a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon. We were seated quickly and provided menus right away while our beverage was taken. Beverages were brought out quickly and we ordered. My Turkey sandwich was very good, and I asked for chips. The chips were also good because they were not overly salty! My wife is a vegetarian but found a vegetarian quiche. The quiche was good but the spinach and cheese seemed minimal. It was served with fruit which was surprisingly fresh and juicy for October! All in all, we had a nice meal and a nice time. I would return and eat here again.
We found this place to be fantastic! It's quaint and cozy and definitely a place that I think we will return to. We ordered some of the fresh lemonade and loved it. The real treat was the sandwich and macaroni salad. We ordered a sandwich called The Parking Garage on rye. It was great! The macaroni salad left us all wanting more. Then to make it even better they have the cutest little ceramics by a local artist if I'm not mistaken. They painted the two wall mural inside. Thanks so much for such a marvelous experience!
Solid lunch spot in downtown Staunton. Wide variety of sandwiches, salads, and baked potatoes. You can also build your own sandwich if you'd like. I ordered the Mountain Laurel sandwich with a side of fruit and it was exactly as expected and tasty. I really enjoyed the specialty iced team they had. It was blackberry sage iced tea and it was super delicious.
Located downtown, so parking is tricky but we found a place on the street. Quaint small town. Limited seating but short wait. Very good selection of unique and tasty creations. They were out of the chili, which I hoped to try. Quesadilla appetizer was ok but could have used more cheese. Wife got a reuben that had perfect balance of quality meat and kraut. Bread was fresh and even chips on side were good. I liked the fresh fruit that was offered instead of chips. I got a pastrami sandwich called the Betsey that had perfect meat/bread ratio. I drank a local blueberry sour beer and our pumpkin cheesecake dessert was absolutely delicious. Worthwhile lunch if strolling in Staunton.
Love the pampered palate! Food is consistent in taste. Doesn't matter if you go today or years ago! Dinning in the downstairs takes you to another place - small bistro in France - atmosphere!
