Honolulu Coffee - Moana Surfrider
2365 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside the historic Moana Surfrider Resort, this intimate coffee shop transforms a simple caffeine run into something genuinely special, where sipping a Hawaiian latte—crafted with coconut and macadamia nut syrup—feels like part of the Waikiki experience itself. The space invites you to linger with its outdoor seating and unhurried vibe, perfect for meeting a friend or settling in before heading to the beach, though the pastry quality can be a bit uneven. Staff warmth and creative drinks like their signature hibiscus elixir keep regulars coming back, even if the sweetness level isn't always perfectly calibrated.”

Had such a wonderful experience at Honolulu Coffee - Moana Surfrider, located inside the beautiful Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa. Grabbing a coffee here feels extra special with the historic charm of the property and the ocean just steps away. The coffee was smooth, aromatic, and perfectly brewed — you can really taste the quality of their beans. Whether it’s a classic latte or one of their Hawaiian blends, everything is rich and balanced without being overly sweet. It’s the perfect way to start your morning in Waikiki. The service was warm and welcoming, and the relaxed island atmosphere makes it easy to slow down and enjoy the moment. Sipping great coffee with ocean views and gentle sea breeze? Hard to beat that. Absolutely a 5-star experience — I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Honolulu.
Stopped by Honolulu Coffee inside the iconic Moana Surfrider for a light bite and a refresh—and it delivered. The hibiscus elixir was lightly tart, and super refreshing and the spinach dip quiche was warm and savory.
Hawaiian iced latte was so good. But the toasted chocolate croissant was too chewy. a bit disappointing for the price. It would be nice if the bread were a bit softer. However, the staff who took my order and made the coffee were very kind.
This is a small coffee shop but I went several times during my stay because the Hawaiian latte was probably the best coffee I've ever had in my life. So, so good. Everyone was friendly and I got my coffee fairly quickly as I was pretty early (5:30-6 range). Later in the morning, it'll take longer so be prepared for that. It was REALLY nice having an option besides Starbucks at that hour.
When I am in Waikīkī I like to grab a coffee and açaí bowl in the morning or heading to the beach. I got the Hawaiian latte- which has coconut and macadamia nut syrup which is a little too sweet for me. I also wanted an açaí bowl so I got the classic- acai with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and granlola. It was very big for 1 person, I probably should have gotten a chia yogurt for something smaller. Service was great and quick, there’s some seating inside and it’s really busy. Kind of on the pricey side, it was about $30 with tip for my coffee and açaí bowl.
