Crema's Take

The Borough feels less like a coffee shop and more like dropping by your favorite aunt's house, with a genuinely warm staff who remember you and a cozy, sun-filled atmosphere that makes lingering feel natural. Their house-made syrups elevate even simple coffee orders, while the full menu of thoughtfully-prepared breakfast and lunch items—from vegetarian burritos to killer Reubens—prove they care about real ingredients and real flavor at prices that won't break the bank. It's the rare spot where you go for coffee but stay for the feeling of actually being welcomed.

We’ve traveled the country and have tried many different places but our favorites are the ones where the staff make you feel welcomed and wanted. This place checks all the boxes. There is something on the menu for everyone and the atmosphere has that old building charm. We enjoyed a fresh salad, chicken strips, and a few sides. Best of all we have a yummy chocolate muffin for a dessert break later. Want to feel like you’re part of the neighborhood with neighbors that care - stop in at The Borough KC - a true neighborhood food hall.

The service was great. I felt well received and cared for. The vegetarian burritos were delicious and the perfect size. I had a nice mellow cup of coffee. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. I had enough natural light to read by. I definitely plan to return in the future.

A great value for every item I tried, and a very welcoming atmosphere overall. The staff was very nice and let me know about some extras that are available with what was on the menu. Great for a tasty breakfast.

What a great spot! Feels super cozy, like having lunch at the auntie’s house. Lots of sunshine. Great food. Great prices and service. Had a pork chop sandwich and the Reuben, both of which were top notch. I was surprised at how juicy and flavorful the corned beef was. They also have beer, margs, etc. I can’t wait until the weather gets warm and I can have a beer and a burger here with the garage doors open. This place is not to be missed. Simple, but very, very good.

I have been here a few times. The breakfast food is consistently good. They make their own syrups and I am impressed with the flavors. They said they use real ingredients and it’s such a simple thing that makes a huge difference. I got a 16oz lavender vanilla latte and a bacon egg and cheese muffin for $13. It’s quiet whenever I come in and the place is clean 😊
