Emissary

Crema's Take
“Emissary brings a thoughtful, espresso-focused approach to Miami's coffee scene, with standout drinks like their cortadito and skillfully crafted cold brews that draw genuine appreciation from regulars. The space has an undeniable charm and the team—particularly attentive baristas like Alejandro—clearly care about the details, though consistency in both service and cleanliness seems to fluctuate. It's a solid neighborhood spot a few blocks from Coco Walk that pairs excellent coffee with full breakfast options and pastries, best experienced when you can settle in for a leisurely sit.”

I really wanted to like this place, but in my opinion it’s definitely overhyped. We went early for breakfast and the experience was disappointing from the start. I ordered an iced cappuccino and it was so bad I had to return it and ask for an iced latte instead. My friend ordered a cafecito and didn’t enjoy hers either. The bigger issue was the food. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, but the eggs were soupy and mushy, and I couldn’t finish it. My friend ordered a turkey and cheese sandwich the turkey was very cold and the sandwich itself was quite plain. When my replacement coffee finally arrived, it wasn’t even iced and still didn’t taste good the coffee had a sour flavor. The most frustrating part was the price. We paid about $80 for two sandwiches and coffee and left still feeling hungry. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
I have no complaints. I have a special thank you to Alejandro for his attention to detail and his genuine attitude towards us and the other customers during our visit. I had “el mejor cortadito” which was a symphony of French buttery perfection. My wife had a flat white that did not disappoint. Our pup had a cup of water, shout out to Alejandro once again for that attention to detail and providing water for our pup. The ambiance is second to none at Emissary especially for those just looking for a quick bite or a chat over a drink. They do anything coffee related the best in my opinion and it’s a very chill atmosphere for conversations with your significant other. If your walking around the grove stop by for a much needed break.
Finally was able to venture out onto the world of Emissary! We got there a bit late at around 12:15 on Sunday- so we missed out on some of the food options that looked great, but the pumpkin coffee cake was insanely good! I had the espresso fever tonic and the mango matcha. Thoroughly enjoyed both- would recommend to order the matcha with light ice and extra mango , both drinks were excellent nonetheless. Service was smooth despite being there during the change from breakfast to the later shift. God Bless and can’t wait to be back!!!
This place has a lot of potential — cute setup, nice vibe, and a good amount of staff — but the service just doesn’t match the energy. Tables and counters tend to stay cluttered after people leave, which is a bit frustrating considering the limited seating. It gives off the impression that clearing up isn’t much of a priority. Coffee-wise, it’s solid! I’d give it a 4/5 — enjoyable, but not the kind that makes you want to go out of your way for it. Personally, I think Navi Coffee, just nearby, does it a little better. Overall, not a bad stop if you’re already in the area, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
Good coffee shop a few blocks from Coco Walk. We recommend the salmon breakfast platter that comes with bread from Domaselo and the iced coffee latte. The service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere of good vibes and relaxed.
