Crema's Take
“I appreciate you sharing this information, but I'm noticing the reviews provided seem to be mixed in from a concert venue rather than reflecting Granary Cafe itself. Based on the tags alone—traditional drinks, pastries, light food, and outdoor seating in a welcoming atmosphere—here's what I can authentically share: Granary Cafe offers a neighborhood-friendly spot in Salt Lake City where you can settle in with well-made traditional coffee drinks and fresh pastries, whether you're catching up with friends or grabbing something quick before heading out. The outdoor seating and approachable vibe suggest this is the kind of place that feels equally good for a solo coffee moment or a casual meeting with others. To give you the warmest and most specific summary this cafe deserves, I'd love to see some actual customer reviews about their coffee quality,”

Just another boring review from me... Luke Steele is phenomenal. If you've never seen an Empire from the Sun show and you don't mind a strangely super young crowd, it is worth the money to attend, and it will blow your mind. They were phenomenal. That said, The Granary hosted the show and have a fabulous old building retrofitted as their stage. Which is located in the old train district having used train cars, In their space. Very cool and tons of potential. Yet, quite disappointed in, -the lack of info you receive prior to the event and /or during, regarding VIP ticket amenities. I paid a rather lot for the VIP tickets months ago for the Granary, and was simply left out. One might assume they have assigned seating closer to the stage or an area which gives you a great view minimally. Without having to churn and burn in general admission. I was even there early just naturally because that's what I do.And there weren't many people there, but there was no indication that there was anything going on which is a special privilege for 3 times the money. Hugely disappointing. - strangely designed venue overall, less the stage. Strange rippled astrograss that was tripping people. Completely flat area to view the band. Packed like a high school prom party. .....Don't go if you're short or you don't get there five hours early, to get in the front. -Very small and somewhat strange merchandise offering. Or really any kind of offering. - Although no judgment here, full tolerance for all kinds of drugs use, however fairly minimal security. -Only 8 lawn chairs located in an area where you're next to the bar. And I mean, the crappy kind of lawn chairs. - Finally, the sound was actually quite terrible during the open acts. I prayed to myself that it wasn't going to be that way for the headliner. And thankfully, it wasn't.
I personally really like this venue. I like the food and drink options, as well as the artificial turf. The sound is typically very good even at farther distances away from the stage, where there's typically more elbow room.
This place has a small town feel. It's not a huge venue but it's decent. Getting in was pretty quick. Getting drinks was pretty easy. They had 2 food trucks inside and that was nice, too. There are no seats; it's all standing. For that reason, we're glad we showed up towards the end of the night when the headliners were playing because there's no way we could have stood for 7 hours. Parking in this area is easy. There are tons of free street parking spots. We found a spot pretty close and pretty easily, and we're able to walk right over. Even getting out of the lot was easy. We weren't waiting forever to get out of the parking lot and we were home in no time.
The sound was amazing, plenty of porta-pottys and vendors for drinks and food. They have astro-turf here and I think that is so perfect for an outdoor venue. Grass can get too messy and concrete is way too sketchy! Super cool ambiance and everyone working was friendly!
VIP tickets didn’t include seating in VIP area? Purchased tickets for 10 people in February, with no notification we could purchase VIP seating. They said that section opened up in June. Why didn’t they let us know? Customer service failure. VIP tickets at this venue are not true VIP tickets. Sorry. Don’t mislead people. You deserve ZERO stars.
