Crema's Take

Candela Y Cafe brings authentic NYC and Dominican energy to Miami with genuinely stellar coffee and standout sandwiches like their legendary "El Monstro," plus fresh empanadas and rich traditional dishes like sancocho. The al fresco vibe is perfect for lingering over a slow sit, and Friday night live music adds to the vibrant deli-market-wine bar atmosphere that feels like a slice of home for anyone craving that East Coast edge. Just stick to their coffee and made-to-order food rather than their prepared lunch offerings, and you'll understand why regulars keep coming back.

I would not recommend their prepared lunch. Order your own food and let them prepare it. This place is extremely expensive for really horrible hard ribs. Three ribs and side of potato’s cost $18. The ribs were way over cooked and not edible. I should have ate it there so I could show them how horrible the ribs were

Prices are not correct on shelves. Items won’t scan into system. And then the cashier charges you whatever she thinks it might be worth as “custom item” or something similar. Customer service is sorely lacking, looking like they’re miserable to work there. When asked about the correct pricing she couldn’t tell me the difference in pricing between one item and another or the same kind. Food prices, quality and quantity is inconsistent. Management is nowhere to be found. The only thing going for it is the place looks great. As a test: I I left my wallet with my id, a couple cards and $20 cash. Integrity is a telling thing, turns out my wallet was confirmed to be turned in by the cashier at the time, with out the $20 cash. This was confirmed by manager hours later when I returned for the wallet.

Nice NYC/Dominican vibe. Deli, "marketa", restaurant wine bar. Good al fresco sitting. Live music Friday nights.

This place gave me that NYC vibes I felt like I was back home. Everything we ordered was amazing. We started with the empanadas we got one of each. It was nice and fresh. I personally got the chopped cheese sandwich and let me say I thought I was back up north. It was amazing. The service was great. The crew took care of us. Will def be going back!!!

Amazing coffee and slamming sandwiches! You have to try “El Monstro”! One of the best tasting sandwiches I’ve ever had 🤤 The sancocho is delicious. The food in general is really good here and its generously portioned. The service is top notch and the selection is pretty expansive. All in all a great place to get delicious deli sandwiches and homemade food reasonably prices in the Downtown Miami area.
