Crema's Take

Scout Coffee in San Luis Obispo is beloved for their exceptional pastries—especially those buttery European-style croissants and signature Scout cookies—paired with thoughtfully crafted espresso drinks like their standout maple spice latte. The bustling, laptop-friendly atmosphere draws a steady crowd of students and locals who linger for hours, thanks to genuinely warm staff and a location that's perfectly positioned in an accessible plaza. This is the kind of spot where the coffee is excellent, the pastries are genuinely wow-worthy, and you'll likely find yourself becoming a regular.

Very tasty pastries, good coffee and excellent service. It can be crowded at times and difficult to find a seat as many students can be seen on their laptops enjoying coffee and treats.

Scout Coffee is one of my top spots to grab a maple spice latte and I absolutely LOVE their Scout cookies! The staff is always so kind and helpful. It’s a favorite place of mine to get computer work done and the icing on the cake is that they have a cool vibe for their music play list. I’ll give Scout Coffee/Foothill a 5 STAR - everyday!!!

This is my favorite Scout location. Plenty of parking in the plaza and the surrounding area. There are lots of good things in the surrounding plaza and across the street too. This location is very close to the campus and is almost always busy. There lots of space inside and out and the staff is very friendly and can handle the high volume. We got a cheddar and bacon scone , blueberry muffin, matcha Latte, woodlands latte. The cheddar scone was awesome and the muffin was good as well. Matcha was good but slightly milky in flavor. The Almond milk latte I got was their Homemade woodlands flavor. It was a mix of maple , citrus and Douglas Fir. Like as in the tree. I know it sounds crazy, but it was actually subtle and pleasant. I enjoyed the flavor all the way to the bottom of the cup. I also went there another day for a winter seasonal and got the maple and sea salt latte which was great as well. This is my most favorite location and will keep coming back for more.
