Crema's Take
“This Puerto Rican spot in Mesa brings genuine warmth and celebration to every visit, with staff that make you feel like family whether you're marking a special occasion or just craving authentic island flavors. While opinions on the traditional dishes vary, their red beans and slow-cooked comfort food shine brightest, paired with a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for lingering over coffee and conversation. It's the kind of place where the owner's personal touch turns an ordinary meal into something memorable, especially if you're seeking that homey, unhurried vibe.”

Food is Ok. Red beans were exceptional. Went to counter, and didn't get treated. "What are you going to have" As I ordered, I told one lady near me, "buen provecho" she looked offended as she did not understand what I said. Said it again and understood. She obviously works there. After I paid for dinner and given 20% Tip. I sat down expecting someone to, at least bring my drink". that didn't happen. I waited for the food and server, which never came by to see how I was doing at any moment, followed her to get my drink from refrigerator. Chicken I ordered was very small. The food was pricey and the only food that was real good was the beans. Atmosphere felt boring and the music was not even from Puerto Rico. Yes there was salsa music from everywhere else and; not the original singer. I wanted to feel at home. Did not happen here. I'm hoping you improve upon this as I am an honest reviewer and I don't complain at the spot. Just drive on and review, the reason to follow reviews. I want this place to feel and sound like Puerto Rico, sorry but that's supposed to be your place, act like it!
This place is amazing! The food is so delicious! The staff and owner are amazing! I always recommend this place!
As someone who has been eating Puerto Rican food all his life since I was a kid in Spanish Harlem NYC. This place is abysmal. Food is absolutely disgusting . When it was Millies restaurant it was exceptional but now I doubt this is even a legit spot. Super over priced for food that will make you sick to your stomach. If you know good food especially cuban or or food you know this place is horrid. How they have even managed to stay open makes me question the legitimacy of this place as nothing more than a financial funnel for other enterprises. The food is atrocious so do not say you weren't warmed. I was absolutely embarrassed to have taken a loved one to this place to introduce them to Puerto Rican food. If you want to be sick to your stomach go here. It is Soo tragic that COVID forced Millies to close as that was a legit Puerto Rican food place we had eaten at for years at both locations. There are not even words for what this place is now Hopefully their coffee is good and the music on their music nights fare better than the food. I will never go back to this place and I'm literally shocked that this place is still open as clientele revenue based on the poor food would never sustain this place past 3 months. I can't say how awful the food is as I am offended and embarrassed by this place to be listed as Puerto Rican food. I should have gone to the Golden Gate right down the street to spend my money on a delicious meal although not Puerto Rican but Chinese my stomach my experience and my dollars would have been spent wisely instead of giving it away to this sham that I would never classify as edible cuisine . My stomach is still upset and the horrid flavor has seeped into my mucus system . It's awful and I'm sorry to say so.
I booked a reservation for my aunt’s birthday on Friday night and they made her feel so special. The food is delicious and the staff is incredibly attentive. They made us feel right at home. We all danced and sang, it was so much fun! Highly recommend checking this place out. ❤️
After celebrating my birthday and craving Puerto Rican food, we came to eat dinner here about 40 minutes before they closed. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant made me feel like I was back on the island. I had the mofongo with shrimp and my husband had the arroz con gandules, and both were amazing! For dessert we had tembleque. All in all, if you want to be transported back to Puerto Rico without the costs come here!
