Crema's Take

Mountain Monk Coffee in Taos is a genuinely beloved neighborhood gem where baristas like Lacy and Kealey pour intention into every cup, whether you're ordering a traditional espresso drink or one of their creative specialty beverages. The shop's real magic lies in its unhurried, garden-filled atmosphere complete with resident pets, making it equally perfect for lingering solo with a book or gathering with friends and family in the peaceful outdoor seating area. It's the kind of place that clearly thrives on community care—both in how the drinks are made and how visitors are treated.

I'm in love with this place! Taos friends and visitors - please keep this place thriving busy. Lacy prepares everything with intention, love, color, flavor. I fully trust the quality and cleanliness of everything here. I recommend trying everything on the menu, but I especially recommend the hot chocolate made from beet juice...crazy delicious (I think it's called Sweet Beet Hot Chocolate??).

After an interesting hike on a San Cristo mountain trail, daughter and I decide to reward ourselves (it was 10am so I didn't suggest a bar) with a morning beverage. Ok, I'll explain "interesting hike". She ran like a gazelle and I looked a panda on a rocky (photo following) path that was literally a 50% incline (daughter says I'm exaggerating 🙄). After I watch her lap me at least 2 times I head down the treacherous 50% incline. She springs ahead with her fleet feet. I arrive at the car gasping for breath hands on bended knees and red faced. She's jogging in place and asks me, "how about a refreshing libation?" YAY! We roll by this super cute tucked away libation establishment on out way and stop immediately. It's tiny and cozy and so boho! The menu is extensive for a small space and I'm impressed. It's also busy for a Sunday morning and that tells me it's a local favorite. Daughter orders a Macha tea and all I know is I want a refreshing surprise. I give the enchanting batista full on control. "Surprise me!" And the magic happens. Abracadabra! She sets me up with a "Glo Juice". It's a medley of different juices with a dash of cayenne. WHAT? YES IT IS! So delicious and fresh with a kick. Wow! Just Wow! If you're in Taos I strongly urge you to enjoy a libation from this funky and unique place. Just don't hike a freaking mountain while your gazelle offspring springs ahead! 🤣

Me and my partner stayed down the street from this amazingly comic little shop. Perfect for a morning brew and mushrooms with all kinds of add ons Definitely my kind of shop. The woman running the place was very kind and helpful and the drinks she recommended were delicious. I got to hang out for a couple of hours just enjoying the people, the animals and the smells from the shop. Checked out some of there reading material aswell. I love a great shop with some interesting literature. They even seamed to support local artist. I am looking forward to coming back here again. ❤️❤️❤️
