Crema's Take

Bittersweet Kitchen is a beloved Media breakfast destination where families linger over genuinely excellent food—think golden-brown pancakes, crispy potatoes that people rave about, and inventive omelets—paired with quality coffee in a warm, unhurried setting. The kitchen elevates classic comfort dishes with care, from fresh scones to avocado toast, and even surprises guests with solid pizza, making it the kind of place worth a 3-hour drive or a 25-minute wait on a snowy morning. It's refreshingly unpretentious yet clearly passionate about doing breakfast right, with parking and plenty of space for families and lingering conversations.

I came with my family on a quiet snow day and had a delicious breakfast. The omelette and potatoes were soooo good. I liked having the biscuit as a treat. Our kids loved the pancakes. The scones are yummy too! There is a small shelf with some toys for kids I really appreciated. The staff are so kind. 10/10

A great, and quite popular, breakfast spot, serving a variety of dressed-up classic options. Bittersweet Kitchen brews some great coffee, and I also quite enjoyed the Steak and Eggs (though the Medium Rare could have been a bit more rare). I recommend getting there early, to avoid having a long wait.

The food was very good. The avocado toast was good except the avocado mash could’ve had a little less lemon or lime juice added to their mix. Despite that, it’s better than many other places I’ve had avocado toast. :) The portions were big too so that was nice. In regard to the entire place, the atmosphere is warm and comforting with dark walls and nice bar seating at the window with the sun shining in. Overall I enjoyed my experience here. 😁😊 Oh and the hot chocolate is delicious! So remember to try it while you’re there.

Bittersweet seriously has the best food- the bittersweet breakfast is a great deal and they have the best potatoes. Also tried their pizza recently and it was insanely good. Will definitely be returning for more!

A++. We were not disappointed! My sister had an 8 hour layover at the airport so we decided to drive the 3 hours to Philly to meet her and get some breakfast. There was a bit of a wait (25-35 min) so we decided to take the first available table which happened to be outside (in the sprinkling rain). The umbrellas helped a bit, but when the wind blew we got a dash of water on us. Regardless, it made for a fun family experience with some excellent food! 2 of us got their Southern Pileup (sausage gravy over biscuits). My wife got their Pumpkin Pecan Pancakes, and my daughter got their steak and eggs. We also got some sides of bacon and sausage. The sausage patties were probably the most delicious that I have had in a while. The service was friendly and excellent. The next time we come back to the Philly area, we are stopping again.
