Cups & Cats
187 Summers St, Charleston, WV
Crema's Take
“Cups & Cats is a cat lover's sanctuary disguised as a coffee shop, where you can enjoy thoughtfully crafted coffee and hot chocolate while watching rescue cats play behind a windowed wall (or booking time to interact with them directly). The vibe here is genuinely warm and community-focused—regulars and first-timers alike rave about the welcoming staff and the palpable sense that the cats' wellbeing comes before the bottom line. It's the kind of place where you can linger with your laptop, celebrate a birthday surrounded by feline friends, and actually feel like you're supporting something meaningful with every visit.”

Wonderful atmosphere. You can tell that this establishment is here for the love and care of the cats and not for exorbitant profit margins. Be sure not to let Mr. Thumbs out of the cat area!!
Cannot say enough good things about Cups and Cats! Both the cats and humans made my daughter's birthday outing such a success, everyone was so welcoming and friendly and helpful! It's not easy to find new, fun things to do with kids so I really can't say enough how much I appreciate all the patience the lovey ladies here had for my group of girls.
Finally had a chance to stop in and visit! We booked online and ordered coffee when we arrived. The coffee and hot chocolate were wonderful, but the cats were even better. I appreciate that there was an attendant to supervise interactions and they limit how many people can be in the room to avoid overwhelming the cats. The staff is very sweet and you can tell they care about their foster environment. The main coffee shop has puzzles, board games, and coloring for anyone who wants to sit and view the cats without entering the cat room and overall the space was very calm and cozy. We got to spend some time with Precious (black and orange calico), Honey (grey and white) took a nap with us, and I think Miso is the sweet girl who was watching her favorite show. Highly recommend giving this place a visit.
The establishment offers excellent coffee, and the hot cocoa was well-received. The opportunity to interact with the cats for a small fee, which supports their care, was also a positive experience.
Cute and Fun. When you walk into the main door it's like a regular Cafe. Then they have a wall down the middle with huge windows. You can watch the cats through them. If you want to play with the cats you can "rent" time. The cats are rescues. It's a good cause and if you have a cat allergy, I feel like you could still enjoy the Cafe part as long as it's not a major allergy.
