Café Crème

Crema's Take
“Tucked right next to Austin's downtown library, this sprawling café draws everyone from serious students to casual explorers with its vibrant, art-filled space and generous seating that invites you to linger for hours. Their Vietnamese coffee is a standout, though they take equal care with traditional espresso drinks, and the lush greenery throughout paired with excellent natural light makes it feel less like a coffee shop and more like a creative refuge. The welcoming staff and thoughtful touches like board games transform what could be a simple caffeine stop into the kind of place where you genuinely want to spend your afternoon.”

Excellent vibes. Came here and had the Vietnamese Coffee, and was not disappointed. I love all the greenery and colors inside the shop, and how great the view outside the window is. In a nutshell, excellent vibes, and good service. 100% will be back next time I’m in DT Austin.
Delicious and nice coffee shop. We stopped by to grab coffee and enjoy our evening. This place did not disappoint! From the decor from the fact that they also have board games. The staff was amazing and kind, I hope to come back when visiting Austin.
Overall: 3.9/5 [dine in] Cafe Creme is conveniently located right next to the library, so it attracts a lot of people who come to study. The space is huge and unique, with art on display that you can buy. Menus are left at the front for you to review, and when you are ready to order you can go up to the cashier. They give you a table number so they know who to bring the food out to but drinks are picked up at the counter by the cashier. They have self serve water and to go box stations which are convenient, and the restroom code is printed on the receipt. Nova Scotia Crepe ($16) + Fried Egg ($2): Smoked salmon, honey mustard, spinach, tomato, onion, capers. It was good with the fried egg on top but tasted a bit plain without it. I prefer smoked salmon on a bagel with cream cheese rather than in a crepe. Saigon Crepe ($16) + Fried Egg ($2): Skirt steak, potato, cheddar, onion, spinach, soy sauce. This crepe is not available after 8 PM. My husband got his without cheddar, so I thought it was lacking flavor. However, my husband liked his crepe and thought it was better than he expected. Collagen Protein Latte With Oat Milk: Tastes like it sounds, a collagen iced milk coffee.
I ordered Earl a great tea. They served it not lukewarm, but definitely not boiled. Then they tell me no we don’t boil water. If you’re a tea drinker, you know you have to drink tea at 212° which is boiling so I left it at the counter disgruntled and ordered a latte to take a look at the photo really sloppy made but worse as I go to add simple syrup from a dispenser that looks like it’s for a giant, and it squirts all over me because it’s too tall it wasn’t filled up and when I go back to the girl to tell her that she’s sort of nonchalantly shrugs like yeah I’ll tell the manager completely disinterested well it’s too bad. It’s a nice atmosphere. It’s kind of quiet, which is rare but never come back here again.
We stopped by Cafe Crème’s new location attached to the Downtown Main Public Library after a walk around Town Lake on a cool Sunday morning. It was the perfect follow-up. We ordered a cappuccino, a matcha tea, a Nutella strawberry crepe, and a crepe madame. Everything tasted great and was just as good as their Oltorf location. The crepes were fresh and satisfying, and both drinks were really well made. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the location makes it such an easy, relaxing stop downtown. It’s a great place to refuel after a walk or to settle in for a bit. Really happy to have Cafe Crème in this spot when working from the library or simply chilling out on a weekend morning.
