Boardwalk Cafe

Crema's Take
“This Webster Groves neighborhood gem has a genuine small-town diner charm where regulars are greeted by name and the kitchen delivers hearty, generous portions at fair prices. The atmosphere strikes that sweet spot between a quick coffee grab and a leisurely breakfast destination where families and groups feel equally welcome, though service consistency seems to vary depending on when you visit. The coffee is solid and reliable, paired with comfort food that prioritizes substance over pretension—exactly what a true community gathering spot should be.”

We use to come here 2 or 3 times a month. It's been a while since our last visit. Today was a disappointment. The service was not the best. Me and the wife both had the feeling as if we weren't welcome. We don't expect the red carpet, but a warm greeting and service goes a long way. Anyway, our breakfast was about a 3 or 4 out of 10. Lacked flavor. Guess if we do decide to try again, we'll wait for quite some time.
Felt like being in an episode of Cheers, almost every customer that walked in the door was greeted by name. Staff was friendly, food was delicious and fast. Small town feel in the middle of Webster.
Good food, very good portions, good place for comfort food. Service was prompt. They did a good job of accommodating our large group of 12. Very short wait considering. Did not have to wait for food or drinks, coffee, water and soft drinks were refilled regularly. Had the chili and cheese omelet special, very tasty. Bery good biscuits and gravy. Will definitely go again if we are in the area.
Wonderful breakfast this morning! Quaint neighborhood diner, with 15-20 minute waits during peak service times. Mid-morning to when most Sunday church services are finishing. Servings were more than enough and the pancakes were HUGE! Boardwalk omelet is a Denver omelet on steroids = delicious. My breakfast tomorrow! Great diner in Webster Groves neighborhood, lovely place!
Solid breakfast joint. Definitely aged, but gives it some charm. Pretty affordable relative to other places and the portions are larger. Food was okay. Nothing wowed me. Coffee was pretty good. Service was friendly, just lacked a little promptness. I am used to having my coffee refilled every 5 minutes at most diners. My cup ran out a couple times here. I recommend this place for a simple and easy breakfast option. We were here on a Sunday morning and I expected it to be packed but we got a table immediately and the place sort of cleared out around 9 AM. Guessing it would pick back up a little later.
