Crema's Take
“Tucked in Birmingham's charming Homewood neighborhood, this beloved independent bookstore pairs thoughtfully curated shelves with a genuinely welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back for life. The staff—particularly known for their warmth and attentiveness—create a space where you'll want to linger over a traditional coffee while browsing everything from carefully selected children's books to culturally important displays. It's the kind of place that feels like a community gathering spot, equally suited for focused work sessions, leisurely browsing, or meeting up with friends surrounded by the comfort of good books and genuine hospitality.”

If you find yourself in Birmingham, Alabama, you must make a stop at the Little Professor. It is one of the most adorable bookstores I have seen in a really long time not only is the kids section well curated and set up for reading and exploring and finding new books, but the adult section is wide ranging with excellent feedback from the store on recommendations and new novels and interest to pursue. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the atmosphere. From someone who came out of town this was a must stop!!! I highly recommend anyone in search of books and a lovely ambience to stop in!
Stumbled across this little gem today and they now have a forever customer. MK was the sweetest spirit and was truly amazing and welcoming. The black history month table was sooo carefully curated and such a beautiful touch! I love the support of indie authors while also have splashes of best sellers throughout! Definitely stop by and support if you can!
If you are in Birmingham, make a side trip to Little Professor Bookstore. M.K. Helped us, and she is a gift — so professional, interested, and kind. The layout of the shop is very attractive, and for those last minute gifts, they gift wrap beautifully.
This bookstore is absolutely precious. During my stay at the hotel, I couldn’t resist going across the street to visit this adorable bookstore. The lady in the store was just as lovely as the bookstore itself. They had lots of popular books, and a used section upstairs. I appreciated the division of religion & spiritual, if you know you know. They also have a great children’s section and several places to hang out. If you are in the Homewood area - this is your new bookstore - trust! ❤️ if you are in the Birmingham area make the trip to this bookstore instead of the big box stores and show some local love, you won’t regret it! Wish them all the success and blessings!
Beautiful, spacious bookstore in the Homewood section of Birmingham. Nice area with lots of dining choices close by. Great selection of kids books and games as well as adult fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, gift books, puzzles etc. They offer a discount plan as well for frequent shoppers. Family-owned.
