Crema's Take

Tucked into a quiet corner of downtown Eugene's Minor building, Sparrow Nest is a genuinely hidden gem that serves impeccably dialed-in Noble coffee alongside surprisingly excellent food in a space that feels made for lingering. Whether you're after their award-worthy matcha, a cold brew frappe topped with real ice cream, or just a peaceful afternoon with a book, the thoughtful staff and unhurried atmosphere make this the kind of place locals fiercely protect and visitors wish they'd discovered sooner.

Excellent little hidden Jem of a coffee shop. Food is fresh & delicious and wonderful staff. I wish the menu was bigger -hence 4 stars. The cold brew Frappe has REAL ice cream! Best I’ve ever had. Must try for yourself

The staff is very kind, and the space is ideal for unwinding and enjoying a good book, and its a nice music. A truly pleasant experience.

You don't want to miss this corner of coffee joy. Perfect matcha and award-winning Noble coffee being served aside, there are some Important features that make for a near perfect café experience. No pesky doors near by causing drafts of cold win to come in. Actually comfortable-to-sit-on grey velvet seats paired with stable marble top cafe style tables, and very comfortable, super plush booths covered in mustard velvet paired with sturdy wood tables that don't need pieces of cardboard to balance out an uneven floor. No one crowding you with their loud conversations. WiFi. And strong WiFi signal that works. PLENTY of outlets conveniently placed strategically on seating of the tables (and even a strip of outlets along the base of the one wall, in case you don't snag one of the outlets under the cafe tables). The boogie beat and alternative music helps the friendly vibe and Sunny and Alex are great service aficionados. I said near perfect. So what could make this place more perfect? Only staying open a couple hours longer. 😏

Tucked-away in the Minor building in downtown Eugene, Sparrow Nest is a hidden gem worthy of the high praise. The coffee (Noble out of Ashland) is dialed-in correctly and always tastes great. The food options are few, but what they do have is very satisfying (some coffee shops in the city are trying too hard to be restaurants; SN is the right balance and vibe). The decor is tasteful and fun and the seating is plenty, stylish, comfortable, and practical (with outlets everywhere!). It's fun to see regulars working on the floors above come and go, interacting with the staff who are always kind, professional, and accommodating to everyone. I plan to get A LOT of homework done here in the future. Thanks SN! Keep it up.

I likes it. The coffee is that old time West Coast Brew. Strong, dark, strips the hair off ya. Good employee. Strange location? The downstairs bottom ground floor a bright spot fading in a dark corner. Go for it. Like I said, I likes it.
