Crema's Take
“Horai is a beloved neighborhood gem that pairs exceptional handcrafted coffee—their dry cappuccino is apparently unmatched in Eugene—with an ever-changing selection of intriguing baked goods like honeyed challah and wild mushroom hand pies that feel more like discoveries than menu items. Beyond the coffee and pastries, there's a wonderful wandering-through-a-friend's-kitchen quality to the space, where you'll find potted plants, local goods, and organic homemade treats that invite you to linger and explore. It's the kind of place that started at the farmers market and earned its brick-and-mortar location through genuine community love.”

Many intriguing baked goods and grocery items to select from. Enjoyed my maitake, chanterelle, & wild rice hand pie, $6. Picked up a bunny ear cactus for $5. Cortado good.
Love that they have such delicious honeyed challah fresh daily in a mini size $6 as well as the shared size $10. Tried it toasted and buttered with salt and fresh cracked pepper -- and then dropped some hot sauce for kick. Absolutely amazing toast. Ordered a cup of hot J-Tea and the Maple Syrup Winter Squash Cinnamon Roll, and didn't want to leave without a cookie...wound up with two. Reminded of Quohelet in Ecclesiastes saying, "two are better than one." They have an amazing selection of sauces and the best nut butters, fresh squash and pumpkin and garlic and onions. The refrigerated section has some very interesting promising products, and the freezer has meat and ice cream. Superlative service by Emma.
So good!!! I got a breakfast sandwich on a gluten free bagel and a golden milk latte with oatmilk. The bagel had an amazing taste and texture which is rare for gluten free items. The latte was delicious! Staff was lovely and helpful. Chill atmosphere and lots of local products to buy. Definitely will be visiting again when I come through Eugene. I'm already craving that breakfast sandwich! 😝
Cutest shop in Eugene! Organic homemade baked goods and the best chai ever! My partner got their pumpkin spice latte and loved that as well. Lots of little local goods to peruse. All around great experience, highly recommend!
We love their stand at the Saturday market! When we found out they had a brick and mortar location we couldn't wait to try it. They have, hands down, the best dry cappuccino in town. Everywhere else I go I am basically handed a latte. They actually make it foamy and light. The pastries are to die for! Not only are they eclectic and interesting, they taste amazing! They really deliver delicious savory and sweet treats. I think I have tried one of everything they make at this point. I have genuinely not been disappointed in any of them. They had something for everyone in my family too. The store has even more than the booth to! This is my new go to for coffee or pastry.
