Crema's Take
“ComeBuy Tea brings a modern take on traditional Taiwanese bubble tea to Seattle, with visible Teaspresso machines that brew fresh tea right before your eyes—a refreshing contrast to the shortcuts many shops take. Their Sun Moon Lake black tea and house-made pearls strike an impressive balance between authenticity and innovation, while the shop's cool atmosphere makes it equally suited for a quick boba run or lingering over conversation.”

I love the upgraded cup sleeves! However, the food and drinks were a bit of a mixed bag this time. The waffles and egg waffles were a little too soft and soggy for my taste; I really prefer them to be crispier. I also noticed the tea quality seems to have dipped recently—it isn't as fragrant as it used to be. With so much competition nearby, I really hope the quality stays consistent! A note to management: Please look into replacing or repairing your bar stools. The furniture is deteriorating and feels very dangerous to sit on. The 4-person booths are often occupied by single customers for hours, leaving many others standing. It might be time to rethink the floor plan to accommodate more people! Still a fan, but hoping to see these improvements soon.
Really enjoyed my bubble tea here! I got the sun moon lake black tea. The pearls were fresh and perfectly chewy, and the drinks were well balanced and flavorful. The shop itself has a really cool vibe and is a great place to hang out. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.
I ended up going here because this was the place that sold Hong Kong-style milk tea. Although it’s not an authentic HK style, the tea and atmosphere of the place are really memorable and left an impression compared to other places. Moreover, the location is easy to spot as well. I like that it had things to eat, as well as a variety of drinks such as chai, Osmanthus, fruit teas, and other types of rare tea that tea fans would know, like Longjing tea or Sun Moon Lake Black tea. As for the drinks, I got a Strawberry Fruit Tea and the Hong Kong Milk Tea. The strawberry tea felt fresh. Despite coming from a machine, it felt freshly made rather than stale, with some nice hints of tea notes. The Hong Kong style was interesting and a must-try if someone wants a unique taste. It tastes like milk tea but with a little stronger black tea feel. The milk topping (or "creamccino," which was written on the menu) tasted heavenly (I still crave it...) The boba were also good, as they weren’t sticky, rather chewy and squishy. Just perfect. What I’m a little sad about is that I wish there were more locations for this tea place. If it were, I would definitely love to visit it whenever I can. The other issue I have is the limited amount of customization. Some teas can’t go to 0% sugar (only 30%). I also wanted to try removing the boba in the HK style, but wasn't able to (through the machine). Perhaps it would be better to order in person rather than through the online interface system. Overall, my first impression of this place is really good. I hope it expands more, since I don’t want to miss out on their special deals.
There are very few bubble tea shops that actually use freshly brewed tea and COMEBUYTEA is one of them. They use giant Teaspresso machines and brew it right in front of you which is neat. If you want authentic taste with actual tea flavor, check out this chain which originated in Taiwan. It’s one of my favorite tea spots and reminds me of my time there.
Ordered 2 plain waffles, and tipped as well. As I ate I found that the waffle had plastic in it. Initially I thought it's just burnt pieces of the batter on the side of the waffle but as I looked closer there turned out to be a big piece of plastic with small pieces throughout the waffle. You can obviously see them. So I told them that there's plastic in it, the server apologized and said she'll make another one. Me and my gf waited and when it was ready I got them from the counter just to find out that there's still plastic in them. These pictures are the waffle made the second time. You can see there's still clearly plastic inside of it. I was surprised she didn't notice the black specks so i just tossed them and left. Pretty disappointing. Plastic inside waffle is no joke.
