Lowertown Bike Shop Coffee Station
214 4th St E UNIT 120, Saint Paul, MN
Crema's Take
“Tucked inside a sprawling bike shop in Saint Paul's Union Depot, this coffee station punches above expectations with genuinely thoughtful espresso drinks—think lavender lattes that actually taste like lavender and cortados pulled by people who clearly know their craft. The owner brings a personal warmth to every order, making it feel less like a quick caffeine grab and more like a genuine conversation, even if you're squeezing in a coffee while browsing floor-to-ceiling bikes. It's an unconventional pairing that somehow works beautifully, serving what regulars call some of the Twin Cities' best coffee in one of the city's most unexpected spots.”

Came here for a bike lock but they don’t open the bike portion of the store until 1pm apparently. Got a tasty coffee instead.
Serving up backstory coffee (my favorite of all twin cities coffee) inside the union depot. This shop, like the others in the depot, are a worthwhile stop. Staff was friendly and took the time to check ingredients for me so I could find a dairy free drink. I went with an oat milk maple latte which had actual maple syrup in it. I hear there’s a shop dog around some days too, although not on Sunday mornings. Stop in and grab a coffee and then check out Story Line Books or the train shop next door.
A lavender latte that actually tastes like lavender! The Americano was also delicious. The owner was very friendly and the coffee was worth it. Mostly a bike shop, yes, but if you are waiting for the train I suggest stopping in (or even if you're just in Lowertown for whatever reason!).
Good coffee in a shop that is 99% bike shop. Floor to ceiling bikes, smaller area for coffee and treats. My Cortado was good, and I’ve found that shops that have cortados usually/most often know how to pull a good espresso shot. The shop is inside Union Station, not visible from the street. Pretty neat place. Not a place to sit and chat, as there is no seating at all. Parking is on street, and you may have to walk a ways.
Honestly, didn't expect much because of not much information about this coffee place and also because it's literally also a bike store. However!!!! I loved it!!! Host is super friendly, explained me that they start serving coffee only 2 months ago and as for tourist she suggested me places to visit. And first things first - coffee is very good!!! Not DD or Starbucks, it's a genuine good coffee. Highly recommended!!!
