Coop de Ville
2305 Smallman St, Pittsburgh, PA
Crema's Take
“Coop de Ville is a vibrant, games-filled gathering spot in Pittsburgh where the real draw is their stellar chicken sandwich lineup—think Nashville Hot and crispy wings—paired with a surprisingly robust bar program of beers and mixed drinks. While their specialty lattes get buzz, the true magic here is the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where you can linger over food and games or grab a quick bite, making it equally suited for a casual date night or a group hangout.”

Coop De Ville offers one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. The atmosphere is vibrant, fun, and welcoming, making it an excellent choice for a family-friendly night out. The staff was exceptionally kind and attentive, contributing greatly to the overall positive experience. While the arcade games and fries are priced on the higher side, the outstanding quality of the food more than justifies the cost. The chicken sandwich is truly the highlight and sets this establishment apart. This concept is impressive and well executed and would translate exceptionally well as a franchise. Highly recommended.
Great location for drinks, food options, and games. They have a great selection of beers and mixed drinks, big selection of chicken to include wings, fried chicken, and chicken sandwiches. Also a lot of side items as well. I tried their buffalo Parmesan wings and loaded fries. Wings were very good, fries were good. The games are old, but, I prefer the old classic games. Great place for a group event or just hanging out. The bar tenders were great!
I’ve heard a lot of good things about the coffee here, especially their specialty lattes, and after trying them, I think they’re okay, but not worth the price to be honest. The cereal latte had a ton of cereal in it, should have grabbed a spoon to eat it! The flavor itself was more just sweet than anything else, but it still pretty good coffee and the staff was very nice! My real complaint is that it was $8+ for a small iced latte, which even for a specialty is really pricy for Pittsburgh. Overall not bad but I don’t think I’d get it again for that price.
Bar and the bartenders are real nice. Games are fine but beat up and not a ton of variety, you can play everything in like 1 hour. Duck bowling is tiny with not enough lanes. The chicken sandwich is good but $21 for a meal is bonkers. Also this place is kind of small, it gets insanely crowded past 9 so you can't really do much of anything. There's only like an hour sweet spot where it's not full of kids, dead, or completely packed. However when all the stars align Coop is a cool place, hence the 4 stars.
My Nashville Hot chicken sandwich was tender, the spice was just about right. Good, but not great. The bun was a bit weak and cold. It gave out halfway through the chew. Had to knife and fork the remainder. Seasoned fries were ok, but again, not great. I like fries that are more crispy. The service was ok. Lots of classic video games and a wall of Pinball games a plus.
