Crema's Take
“Philos Café y Mas is a cozy San Antonio gem where the owner's genuine warmth and personal touch elevate every visit, from custom drink creations to sourcing exceptional green beans for home roasters. Their espresso-focused menu shines with creative signatures like the horchata latte and matcha preparations, all made from their own quality roasts at prices that beat larger local roasters. The quiet, welcoming space feels purpose-built for lingering over coffee or settling in with work, backed by consistently stellar reviews praising both the drinks and the owner's generosity in crafting exactly what each customer needs.”

This place is a gem for coffee lovers! I roast my own coffee and love buying green beans from Esteban. They also sell their own roasted beans- way better quality and price than other local roasters imo. The menu specials and coffee drinks and snacks are all very good- I sometimes drive across town for the quality. Also their prices sometimes feel so low compared to true coffee shops of comparable quality that I find myself tipping a lot to make up for it. Make the trip.
The owner is the sweetest person ever! My sister and I had the best experience yesterday. We asked him to surprise us our coffee with some specifications and he delivered!! I loved my drink so so much. Will definitely be coming back a lot!
Stopped by Philos Creations and got the horchata latte and I totally recommend coming by! The owner and the barista were super nice. The environment is nice and quiet, perfect for studying or getting some work done. Great spot on the west side!
I was looking for a place to study and found this small but comfy place on Cupples. The owner is welcoming with a diverse selection. They opened in September and I commented on how long I'd been waiting for a coffee place on the Westside, he replied with how important community was for him. His actions speak louder than words since he resources his products from local businesses! Lastly, the empanada and Cafe de Olla were delicious. Bonus points: - Wifi - Christian - Small-local business
I quite enjoyed my lunch here! I got the Monte Cristo empanada and a matcha latte with horchata milk. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. I rated 4 stars bc currently, there is no menu available to peruse, so it's kinda of strange to order. But the owner informed me that it was in the process of being made so hopefully it will be up soon! Also, the lounge area didn't have any music so it seemed quiet. Overall, will come back again, especially since it's so close to my work and the owner was so hospitable and friendly.
