Crema's Take

Freshies Bagels and Juice is a beloved Hood River spot where hand-rolled bagels are the real star—warm, pillowy, and worth buying by the dozen according to devoted regulars. The bright, welcoming atmosphere makes it perfect for a leisurely breakfast or coffee break while wandering the charming downtown, and their fresh mimosas and solid coffee (especially the lighter roasts) pair beautifully with their simple but exceptional bagel sandwiches. It's the kind of place where friendly staff and reasonable prices match the genuine quality of what's on your plate.

One of the most phenomenal bagels I've ever had. We had a bagel and cream cheese but all of the other bagel sandwiches look delicious as well. We ended up buying a dozen.

Short review, just one plain bagel toasted w/ 2 eggs and coffee. Decent bright breakfast blend. Their dark roast seemed a bit lack luster on a micro pump taste. So, brightness. The bagels look like my dreaded bread doughnuts (not boiled). They toast up (run twice) totally beautiful. The plain bagel as,a benchmark, some crumbs get lost to the cause. Eggs, they use a grill corral, so they come out smaller than the bagel halves. No options for doneness, just ... done. Fantastic!! Served in a little boat w/ a sedate paper liner. Pleasant staff. Nice surroundings, outdoor seating, accessed by a roll up garage door. Casual interior. Likely a woman owned business, given the serious changing station and feminine products in the 'whoever' restroom. I'd be really happy with some place like this in MY neighborhood.

Hardly anyone in and one bagel took 40 minutes plus! Our order of four bagels was incomplete—only three were served. After waiting 15 minutes, we asked about the missing one. The staff member acknowledged the mistake but proceeded to prepare seven other bagels, including orders placed after ours, before finally addressing it. When the bagel did arrive, it wasn’t quite what was ordered, but we accepted it. Instead of an apology, it was placed on the counter with a quick “here.” Also it was 2:50 (close at 4) and they already had cleanup going (see picture)
