The Center Café
540 Belvedere Boulevard, Charlottesville, VA
Crema's Take
“The Center Café is a welcoming neighborhood spot where the baristas genuinely know their regulars and will happily customize drinks like cortados that aren't on the menu. Beyond solid traditional coffee, they're known for creative signatures like the java shake and thoughtful food pairings—though you'll want to skip the overstuffed sandwiches in favor of their well-spiced soups like the white chicken chili. It's the kind of place where you can linger on the outdoor patio or settle in for a meeting, with the bonus of ample parking and proximity to Charlottesville's bike paths.”

Had the white chicken chili and curry chicken..just the right amount of zing. Howard and Sabrina very cheerful and friendly.
Wishing that I had taken a picture of the turkey sandwich that I paid entirely too much money for today. It had dried up, old, inedible red peppers on it that I picked off. The bread was advertised as sourdough, but tasted like stale white bread. It was an awful, overpriced sandwich that left me still hungry. Will not be purchasing another sandwich from this location.
OMG Could anyplace be slower. After standing in line for more than five minutes with no one ahead of me, and then waiting longer for the cashier to figure out how to put in an order or clear the machine or something, and then waiting 10 minutes for a turkey sandwich (on untoasted bread), I was told they were out of turkey. Shouldn’t the person making the sandwiches say, hey don’t take anymore orders for turkey - we’re out? So poorly run. That should have been stopped at the point of order. Do better!
Open to all. Great location as this is just off a bike and walking path. They even made a cortado for me, which wasn’t on the menu. This is inside The Center so there is lots of parking. Not “exactly” the location shown on Google maps—but go to The Center.
This place is awesome!! Great seating inside and outside. The food is good as well! I love getting the commuter. As for the coffee, the java shake is my absolute favorite. I now have to stop in everyday to get these essentials before going to work.
