Maison B Cafe
304 Elm St, New Haven, CT
Crema's Take
“Maison B Cafe is a bustling New Haven breakfast destination where the waffle coffee shines and the full spread of French toast, omelets, and pastries keeps regulars coming back for the comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere. While opinions on their espresso drinks are mixed—some find them deeply earthy and satisfying, others wish for more balance—the cafe succeeds as a reliable spot for a leisurely morning with reliable seating even during busy hours. The experience here is really about the whole package: decent coffee, solid breakfast fare, and a clean space designed for lingering with friends or family rather than chasing perfection in your cup.”

Clean and busy restaurant but usually has an open table. I have given it multiple tries over the years both dine in and take out.Overall not worth it. The hot espresso beverages are very earthy and the cold espresso beverages are watered down with milk. Food is good but served with very small portion sizes. I went twice recently for convenience (not preference) and was overcharged for a 12oz but served an 8oz both times consecutively. Wont be returning.
Great Waffle coffee ☕. We also ordered French Toast platter and Spinach Omelette platter. Great seating, atmosphere and service. Definitely recommend this spot!
Nice and clean store. I don’t like the chocolate chip cookies, too big and too sweet, the inside is not fully cooked, tastes like the cookie dough.
Disappointment. The cappuccino was tasteless, more like milk mixed with water. The eggs Benedict were overcooked, and there was very little bread underneath. The bread was also toasted and had an unpleasant aftertaste from the excessive amount of sunflower oil.
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Maison B Café in New Haven—it might be the worst service I’ve ever encountered. The coffee barista seemed really down, sitting in the corner and barely acknowledging us, which made the atmosphere feel heavy. We had to practically plead for any attention, and even when we were seated, the service remained unfriendly and unwelcoming. It was such a letdown. To make matters worse, the cappuccino I ordered was honestly awful—one of the worst I’ve ever tasted. Overall, the experience was horrible, and I wouldn’t recommend this place. You’re better off trying somewhere else!
