“This iconic Big Boy location in Burbank is a nostalgic time capsule where generations come to reconnect over classic American comfort food, with reviewers consistently praising the attentive service and that legendary half-pound burger that lives up to the hype. The vintage diner atmosphere and the Big Boy statue out front make it a natural gathering spot for families, car show enthusiasts, and anyone craving an old-school dining experience that feels like stepping back into California's golden age. Just got into Burbank! My first stop was to Bob’s Big Boy! The wait was only took about ten minutes. I had Andrea as my waitress! She’s the best! If you go visit the Big Boy in Burbank, make sure you request Andrea as your waitress! Moreover, the food was amazing! I had the original Big Boy classic combo with a chocolate milkshake! A side note I had my chocolate milkshake at 2:30 pm. The same time David Lynch would have his chocolate milkshake everyday! Coming to visit this location was a big thrill for me and I will visit it again soon!
Growing up we spent atleast 2 Fridays a month at the Classic Carshow on Friday Night. So naturally I had to come here for a meal while I was in town visiting. I was torn between the Chili Spaghetti and their Club Sandwich. But went with the Spaghetti, it is one of my favorites, however I used to sub for corn bread, however they no longer have corn bread. No biggie. My boyfriend got their new Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich which was really good. We both got Cherry Cokes - they are much better with the cherry pumped in by hand than out of a machine. Alot is the same from the booths to the decor, there has been a few menu changes since my last time here. The staff is still friendly, and treat the regulars like family, the food is still as good as I remember it. Bob's will always have a special place in my heart 🫶
What could I possibly say that hasn't already been said about this iconic place? Picked up my kid from Burbank Airport and I asked him if he was hungry. He says, "I could eat." I say to him, "Say no more. I know a place." Decided to stop for an early dinner (around 5pm) to avoid that tangled mess affectionately known as the Hollywood Split. Food was amazing, staff is friendly, attentive, and don't smother you by constantly checking in on you. Food service is quick and the portions are generous to say the least. I went with the "Original" Big Boy and it did not disappoint. It came with a salad and the burger was served with fries on the plate. My son, whom had never been there, said that his scrambled eggs and hash browns were perfect. Yes, they have breakfast all day and my son is as vanilla as vanilla can be when it comes to food. In short, if you want to get some good food after a long flight or just want to experience the cool vibe Bob's exudes, then do yourself a favor and pop on in, grab a spot at the counter or wait for a booth. You won't be disappointed.
To see the Big Boy out front brought back good memories. This iconic restaurant satisfied our taste buds. The All American Burger combo was delicious. A 1/2 pound patty cooked how you like it. The relish was just as I remembered. We sat at the counter no waiting if there's open seats. Our waitress Nancy was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was busy with a good vibe. Lots to look at. They have souvenirs at the front counter. Go enjoy some good food and history. You might even see a Star.
Old school diner chain filled with nostalgia. I had never been before, however my dining partner remembers the chain when they were located all over California. It was a great blast from the past, and definitely worth the experience by itself, as demonstrated by the long wait (45 mins) and a wedding party at 7pm. We both ordered the burgers, with a soda and cup of chili. The food was average, somewhat mediocre. Neither here nor there, not bad nor good. I think I'd go back and try something else, and maybe have a more positive opinion of it. Server was very sweet and provided good customer service, although she forgot a few things (including bringing our bill). However, I chalked that up to the fact that the restaurant was completely full with a waitlist. Long story short, burgers are okay but may recommend trying something else. Review is mostly for the nostalgia. And don't go during peak times.
