If you are looking for a delicious lunch or . . . look no further. The Whistling Kettle has the perfect ambiance . . . delicious teas and such a wide assortment of sweet and savory food options. Their scones are amazing. They do have some gluten free possibilities on their menu. I was happy to enjoy a GF blueberry scone. I can't wait to go back. And did I mention that the waitstaff was super helpful and friendly. You can find just what you want at The Whistling Kettle.

Took me 8 years to come back here. Long ago in a distant past, well before things like COVID were even a twinkle in a certain asian nations eye, I actually was applying to work here. However I quickly decided no matter the outcome of the interview, I would walk, because I could not believe the sheer volume of flies they were dealing with. It was quite gross. That was then and this is now however and things appear to have changed for the better, not a fly in sight, which made me feel all that better about picking up my online order. Speaking of which, there is no phone in option for pickup, which I found a bit disparaging as I tend to not trust various online ordering systems with my credit card info. Be that as it may, I did order online, and picked out the BLT Sconewich with comes with Chips, and the Chicken, Bacon, & Roasted Red Pepper Crepe which I upgraded to have a side of the Lobster Bisque with. Altogether coming to around $35. Back home I opened everything up and was firstly disappointed to see the Sconewich had melted like the Wicked Witch of the West, making it an absolute mess to eat. Also disappointed to see the chips were not homemade, just a bag of sea salt chips you might find at a Subway. At least the BLT had good flavor, the ingredients were good, but it was not structurally sound one bit. The crepe on the other hand held fast, and had a very interesting texture to it inside, almost like a ricotta that had begun to solidify. Big ol' chunks of chicken as well, which sadly the Bisque was severely lacking in. Not a lump of lobster to be found, just shreds so tiny they might pass through a coffee filter. Also a tad too salty, could do with a pinch less salt to the mix. Overall, not recommending the take out if you have to travel 30 minutes home. Those takeout boxes will steam the heck out of your orders with how well they seal, so all the crispy will become mushy. So dine-in only, since their tiered tower presentation seems to be one of their other selling points.

I had such a wonderful experience at The Whistling Kettle in Ballston Spa! I ordered the mimosa flight and the tea tower, and both were absolutely delicious. Our server, Davianna, was so sweet and gave excellent recommendations that made the visit even better. She was attentive, kind, and really made us feel welcome. Between the cozy atmosphere, tasty food, and outstanding service, I can’t wait to come back!

I have been here before for high tea brunch with a girlfriend and it was fantastic - but today I came alone to try one of their specialty sandwiches. The waiter was nice, attentive, though very busy - so thank you! I had a toasted turkey, cranberry, and brie - sooooooooo good. Came with chips. They have a nice variety of teas and giftware. Very unique place, I loved it.

I selected The Whistling Kettle for dinner on my actual birthday because I thought my sister, visiting from out of town, would get a kick out of the 3 tiered presentation of "afternoon tea". While most of our food was good, the extremely poor service was surprising. We'd been eating out all week and never encountered such a dismissive attitude towards the patrons. When the food arrived, my sister noticed that they forgot the dressing for her salad. We could not get the attention of our server so eventually she stopped the young man clearing tables and he got her some. Later in the meal, she had finished her water and mine was getting low. We had to work very hard to get the attention of our server, who was standing near the back chatting with 2 other staff. I tried waving, standing up, etc. to no avail. She then held up her glass continuously and eventually was noticed and we got the water. The limited service was at best perfunctory and we were certainly not treated as welcomed guests. Very disappointing. And while, as a senior citizen, I've had plenty of birthdays, it was interesting to me that even though my sister brought a gift and cards to give me before the meal, the waiter (Robert) didn't even bother to say a thing, like just "oh, celebrating a special event? enjoy". I don't care that he didn't say anything but I think it reflects the attitude projected. Take our order, put the food on the table, come back with a bill, and get out.
