Crema's Take

Method Cafe is a Newark gem that takes its tea seriously, with an impressive lineup of matcha lattes, hojitcha, and loose leaf selections that consistently earn raves from regulars. Beyond coffee, this spot doubles as an unexpected climbing community hub complete with gear, making it a genuinely unique gathering space where you can fuel up with excellent cold brew before tackling the crag or settling in with your laptop. The vibe is warm and welcoming with plenty of seating, thoughtful management that actually listens to feedback, and a killer playlist that'll have you reaching for Shazam.

Method cafe always have the best offerings for matcha latter, hojitcha latte and all sorts of loose leaves tea. They also have a good collection of climbing equipment including shoes, chalk and bags… I’ve probably been here over 50 times… the beverages are always satisfying. it has a friendly staff and amazing atmosphere too. 10/10

Changing to 5 stars because management clearly has ears and uses them. Consider my faith restored — and my review upgraded. Support your small businesses, folks! —— Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) Oat vanilla latte? Chef’s kiss — 5/5. Macaron? Dense, delicious, living its best life — 5/5. Iced sencha? Bitter, astringent, and probably mad at the world — 1/5. Now, about parking. We called twice to ask if they validate. Both times: “Yes, we validate!” What they meant was, “Yes, but only a little… and we’ll still charge you $8 for 2 hours. Surprise!” Nothing like having the barista spin the iPad around — not for your tip, but to charge you for parking. I genuinely thought it was a joke. Spoiler: it wasn’t. Communication, folks. It’s free. Unlike the parking. If you live nearby, totally worth a visit for the coffee and desserts. But if you’re driving? Maybe grab a snack first — you’ll need something to chew on while you process that parking fee.

What a cozy place to eat, work, study, or just relax! I went in the morning here since I was craving a good latte. I ordered an iced latte which was very yummy! This place has lots of seating and is connected to a fitness gym (climbing) where you can do day passes even, I thought that was awesome. The staff is very friendly and the menu had a good variety of coffees, teas, and snacks. I recommend the macaroons, super delicious! I would be back here if I was in the area again. This place had a nice feel without the “snooty” attitude that can sometimes come from vibe-y coffee shops!

One of the best cafe’s in Newark! I love the atmosphere and music, you come here and you better have shazam ready lol. The food is light and fulfilling and i’ve never had a bad drink. There’s so many different seating arrangements for individuals or friend groups. Great place to study, hangout, read, write, and play games.

Great café to get some work done! Their cold brew is our to-go drink here, but latte is also good. Lots of other drink and food options, including tea and smoothies. There are a lot of tables inside, as well as some seating by the window. Pretty quiet in the morning, 2 bathrooms, and nice baristas. They have a paper clipping loyalty card.
