Crema's Take
“Tucked in Media, this espresso-focused coffeehouse strikes that rare balance between serious about their craft and genuinely welcoming, with reviewers raving about both their cold brew and traditional drinks alongside charming service that makes regulars eager to return. The space itself feels designed for lingering—whether you're settling in with your laptop for hours or grabbing a whole-leaf tea and one of their perfectly-portioned sandwiches—making it the kind of neighborhood spot where both quick visits and long afternoons feel equally at home.”

It is extremely unfortunate that I have to write a negative review but after two back-to-back unfriendly customer service experiences. I came one morning this winter with my boyfriend and we ordered drinks and sandwiches, and when we ordered a Hot Chocolate (it was a COLD winter day and he did not want coffee) the woman who works the register on the weekends gave him a dirty look and said “Only children order Hot Chocolate” and laughed in his face. So extremely rude, I wish i would have taken my business elsewhere. I was actually shocked he had the audacity to say that to a paying customer! Then a second time, I had family visiting and we stopped in for a late coffee. The open sign was hanging, however when we walked in the man at the register just stared at us and did not say a word. I asked if they were closed and he said “in three minutes and I can only make some items”. He never specified what items he could make, and continued to be rude to us the entire time. If he would have just kindly stated they were closed, we would have understood. It seems like everyone just has an attitude and that ZERO customer service is valued. I will be taking my business elsewhere!
My coffee exploration led me to Manyunk in Philadelphia, one of my favorite spots. I make it a point to visit 3 to 4 times during the summer, and I am eager to spend more time here in the winter. Manyunk is a vibrant place with unique retail stores, cozy cafes, lively restaurants, and buzzing nightclubs. There is always something exciting to do here. Visiting Volo coffeehouse for the first time, I was struck by its size and charm. With a spacious seating area on the first floor and an entire second floor to explore, this place truly lives up to its reputation as a coffee house. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I decided to try something different from my usual decaffeinated Americano. Volo offers a wide range of decaf options, from lattes to cappuccinos, and even iced teas. The extensive coffee menu was the largest I had ever seen. I opted for a decaf pumpkin spiced latte, which turned out to be excellent. My friend tried the solstice tea, a delightful blend of black tea, apple cinnamon, orange, and elderberry. We didn't dine at Volo, as we had reservations at a nearby restaurant called Le bus, but we definitely plan to return for lunch. The menu looked appealing, and the selection of baked goods was impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable.
I was decently satisfied with my experience here. I was looking for a quick bite and to escape the rain and stumbled upon this cafe. I paid a little over $11 for the sandwich. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again but I was glad to replenish here.
Charming local coffee house. Service was extraordinary. Sandwich selection is just the right size to make this place the whole package. They know how to do tea, whole leaf scooped into the satchel right in front of you. Multiple sizes of cappuccino available but still proportioned perfectly. Ordered slightly dry and was done very well. Ordered the caprese paninis, yummy!!! Just the right ratio of pesto to bread to cheese. The downstairs is lively and good to people watch, upstairs is a nice place to study, work or get lost in your thoughts
MUST VISIT!! This has easily become one of my favorite cafes I’ve ever been to and I can’t wait to go back! The location is perfect with plenty of street parking. I ordered a cold brew with pumpkin & oat milk and the veggie toast. The coffee is amazing quality and the pumpkin syrup is actually so addicting. The toast was stacked and delicious. Study atmosphere is impeccable too!!
