Crema's Take

Mile Square Cafe has mastered the art of the complete breakfast experience, where carefully crafted espresso drinks like their honey pistachio iced latte pair seamlessly with standout pastries and brunch dishes that feel genuinely thoughtful rather than rushed. The cozy yet vibrant atmosphere strikes that rare balance of being both intimate and energetic, making it equally suited for solo coffee contemplation or lingering brunch with friends. What sets this place apart isn't just the quality of individual components—it's the sense that every element, from the cinnamon sourdough focaccia to the fluffy pancakes, has been intentionally designed to create those rare "food experience" moments that stay with you.

This place completely blew me away. I went for breakfast and didn’t expect to have one of those rare “food experience” moments — but that’s exactly what it was. The breakfast burrito is worth every single penny and then some. Packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and honestly unforgettable. What really sets this place apart is the hospitality. Even the owners were coming over to check on us, asking if we needed anything and offering new sauces to try. You can tell they genuinely care about the food and the people who walk through the door. This spot is something special, and I’ll absolutely be back.

Came for brunch and had a good experience! It was very busy but we got lucky and got a small table after ordering. Service was good and food came out delicious. I ordered a honey pistachio iced latte and it was perfect!

This new brunch spot is an amazing addition to Hoboken’s culinary landscape. This isn't just brunch; it felt like a meticulously crafted culinary journey. For our main courses, I ordered the sensational ricotta scrambled eggs, cooked to a juicy texture. It came paired with a vibrant cucumber and tomato salad that was bright and flavor-forward, making the entire plate feel incredibly wholesome, nourishing, and deeply satisfying. It’s the perfect antidote to the heavy, predictable brunch fare found elsewhere. My husband's selection, the breakfast burrito, was equally impressive, featuring unbelievably tender shredded beef that was bold, savory, and perfectly seasoned. It came with a flavorful aioli sauce that I also tried and looveddd! For a sweeter finish, we had the ricotta pancakes with a blueberry compote. They were notably flavorful and held a pleasant, substantial texture. While they weren't strictly dry, we added a side of maple syrup to achieve that super moist, decadent result—a simple tweak that made them even better. The drinks were a highlight! I enjoyed an amazing iced lavender matcha latte (probably my favorite in Hoboken - sounds that they offer lavender year round 😍) and it was super creamy and perfectly balanced, expertly prepared by Meghan. My husband’s coffee was also amazing (and I’m not even a coffee drinker but surprisingly I enjoyed several sips!), served with beautiful latte art, showcasing Eli’s barista skills. We enjoyed the pleasant outdoor dining area (first come, first served; we waited only 10 minutes and were able to dine with our dog—a huge plus!). If outdoor dining is a must, try to arrive a little early. It's absolutely worth the short wait! If you have a bigger dog (mine is only 30lbs), the front tables have a larger semi-closed area so you can enjoy brunch without your dog saying hi to every person that passes by! The service was warm, welcoming, and highly attentive. A special shout-out to Shirley, who was super friendly and made us feel right at home (and even remembered my name throughout the dining experience!) The owner also had stopped by to say hello which was a nice touch for a new local small business in the area! Highly recommend trying this new spot for brunch!:)

What is there not to love about this place? Have had nothing but great experiences here. The atmosphere is cozy, somehow warm yet vibrant, and welcoming. The service? Top notch. I knew (and think they did too) I’d become a fast regular. Shoutout Shirley, Eli, and the rest of the FOH crew! Now the food… hits. Every. Time. Contrary to popular opinion, I think the price to portion ratio is on point. Plus it’s worth it when you see/taste the care the cooks put into putting something on a plate. Thanks, MSC! See you soon!

Great size meals, unique and delicious. The Cinnamon sourdough focaccia was unreal and the pancakes were fluffy, crispy and delicious. Was looking for a good coffee in America (as an Australian) and ordered the flat white. It is the best one we have had to date (being here for a month) highly recommend visiting.
