Crema's Take

This Pawtucket spot has earned serious local devotion for their exceptional baked empanadas—a lighter, bread-like take on the traditional fried version that keeps customers coming back, especially for the pernil and ham & cheese varieties. Beyond the standout empanadas, DG Cafe packs an impressive range of specialty drinks, smoothies, fresh pastries, and light food into a cozy space that feels like a genuine neighborhood gathering spot with real depth to its menu. Morning visits guarantee the freshest offerings, and the consistent quality and community support over their years of operation make this a worthwhile stop whether you're grabbing coffee or settling in for something more substantial.

The empanadas be super good some days and just ok on other days especially if you go later in the day. But i usually go in the morning before work to get the fresh ones. My fav are usually the pernil, beef and chicken but like i said it can be a hit or miss especially with the pernil sometimes it could be really dry and sometimes flavorless. The sauces on the side are delicious tho .the ham and cheese can sometimes be a lil on the empty side and I tried the ranchera empananda today wanting something different and wasnt too big of a fan of the type of sausage they put in it . Kinda reminded me of a hot dog cross with a salchicha straight out the can (if you know you know you either love salchichas or hate em, unfortunatelyi ate to much as a kid and hate them now as an adult) . Wouldve been delicious if they used dominican salami instead. I tried to finish it but couldnt ..the other half went in the trash but i could see others liking it . The prices are kinda pricey for empanadas as well so i only stop by maybe once or twice a week before work other days i stop at caprichos . The customer service however is always 10/10. They are Very accommodating and Friendly everytime

The Ham and Cheese empanadas are literally some of the best i have ever eaten!!! not your traditional deep fried. They are like a bread and baked. almost like a calzone but a much thinner dough. A few different sauces you can choose from if you wanted sauce. i tried the green. The trophies in the cafe say second place and they are first place in my head for sure! The cafe offers many different kinds of empanadas as well as other pastries and cake. Also sodas and other drinks!! You need to check them out!

Got door dash for first trip. We tried the beef, chicken and cheese empanadas. All were very tasty, personally I liked the beef the best. The cheese would probably pair well with some salsa to dip, it's very cheesy. The crusts are flakey and light. 2-3 per person for lunch should be enough. I'm pretty beefy myself lol
