Prep & Pastry

Crema's Take

This Scottsdale spot has carved out a loyal following for its creative specialty drinks like the standout rose chai latte and thoughtful pastry program, making it a lively gathering place that can get pleasantly crowded. The kitchen shines brightest during breakfast and brunch with fresh, made-to-order pastries and light fare, though you'll want to arrive early or use their Yelp waitlist since they don't take reservations. While the experience leans upscale and Instagram-friendly, consistency seems to be a sticking point worth confirming before your visit.

Prep & Pastry in Scottsdale is a stylish and lively spot that is definitely worth the visit, though you should be prepared for a bit of a crowd. I found the rose chai latte to be absolutely excellent, beautifully flavored and the highlight of my morning and the pastry was also quite good. As a tip for fellow visitors, the wait times can be significant, and while street parking is difficult to find, there is a very convenient free parking garage located directly across the street that makes the logistics much smoother. If the weather is nice, I highly recommend snagging a spot in the outdoor seating area; the "Golden Hour" lighting there is spectacular and provides the perfect backdrop for food photography. Overall, it’s a high-quality destination in Old Town that delivers on both taste and atmosphere. You can often join their Yelp Waitlist remotely before you even leave the house to cut down on your standing time. Use the South Bridge Garage located at 7114 E Stetson Dr, which is right across from the restaurant and offers easy access.

BEWARE!! The food made us very sick. When you tried to call them to tell them nobody answers the phone they don't answer the phone and you cannot leave a message. The food was dried out and overcooked and the oil was old they do not change their oil out. There are much better places to eat around there than this place trust me it was way expensive a Cobb salad was 1544 and then they added grilled chicken which was about three pieces that was dried out meat for another $7.25 I literally spent $62.18 at a place that made us sick. I totally recommend to go down the road to " Herbs catering & bakery.. " I wish I could get a refund on this trashy place. It literally rent our whole day after eating there . We didn't hardly even finish our meals they were so dried out The bread was dried out the meat was dried out it was like we got served second day leftovers. And I'm calling the health department tomorrow to ask them to check this place out.. .

This place, located in a prime spot, always caught our eye but was closed whenever we were around. Finally, we decided to stop by for brunch. They don’t take reservations but use a Yelp waitlist system — such a convenient touch! We went around 2 p.m. on a Sunday and were seated right away. The restaurant has a modern, well-lit, and warm ambiance. Service was quick and exceptional. I tried the butter pecan coffee — easily one of the best coffees I’ve had in a long time! For food, I went with the Harissa Shakshuka. Unfortunately, the sunny-side-up eggs were too runny, and the sauce leaned overly tangy for my taste. I wished I had picked something else. The classic French toast was decent, though I’ve had better. Overall, the food didn’t quite hit the mark, but the coffee and service definitely did. Prices are reasonable, and the place has potential. For now, I’d rate it a 3.5 but rounding down to a 3.
