Crema's Take
“This espresso-focused Kansas City gem has earned serious credibility with coffee purists, delivering the kind of authentic cappuccinos with perfect crema that are surprisingly hard to find in the metro area. Beyond the exceptional coffee craft, Splitlog creates an inviting atmosphere that equally excels as a meeting spot or solo work destination, with a stellar food program featuring breakfast burritos and pastries that locals happily drive an hour and a half to revisit. The combination of meticulous espresso work, genuine hospitality, and welcoming vibes makes this a must-visit for anyone seeking both exceptional coffee and a space that feels genuinely chill rather than pretentious.”

I’ve been looking for an authentic cappuccino in the KC Metro. The espresso crema on my cappuccino here at Splitlog was authentic and tasted exquisite! Not to mention the drink was prepared beautifully. I thank the 2 baristas who were talented and cordial. I will make this drive from South KC often for this cappuccino in the future. (Starbucks in comparison overheats their espresso shots and scalds the milk, they make no crema, the whole drink is like burnt milk sadly, no depth or complex taste.)
The breakfast burrito was one of the best I’ve had, also the cheese danish, I’d again drive an hour and a half easily for food and coffee like this! The brown sugar cinnamon latte was amazing as well. The seating area was nice, my friend and I sat and talked for a long time and the noise wasn’t interrupting our discussion at all. The baristas were very friendly and kind as well.
Such a great spot for a coffee meeting! The service is five star. And the atmosphere is even better. A must stop if you’re on the Hill!
Cool space and great coffee. Stopped by after lunch across the street at Slap's BBQ and got a cappuccino to go. It was the perfect cap to my tasty meal. Love the vibes inside. ☕
This was our first time visiting and we really enjoyed the experience. The coffee was good and the atmosphere was chill. Easy place to grab a table and have a chat. We got an iced brown sugar latte and iced chai latte with oat milk. The 20 oz size is as small as I’d go. We also tried a yogurt parfait and Quarantine cookie (Guinness Stout Chocolate). The cookie was delicious! They also had a great rooftop seating area, although we didn’t get a chance to head up there. Only complaint is that the kitchen was closed, although that could have been a schedule thing that I didn’t check.
