Crema's Take
“The Roasterie Woodside Café has earned its reputation as a Kansas City coffee institution with a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels equally welcoming whether you're settling in with a laptop or stopping by for a quick espresso pull. Their baristas clearly take pride in both traditional and creative drinks—think a Dirty Chai that apparently lives up to its hype—and pair them with quality pastries that locals have been seeking out for three decades. While prices skew higher and there's some debate about whether their drinks match the premium, the genuine hospitality and thoughtful craft keep people coming back.”

I like the atmospher. the prices are on the higher end . However I am not bothered by that since I like the taste.
Great service. Dirty Chai at the end of a rainbow. 10/10
Great atmosphere, great baristas, the menu and quality of drinks, however, are subpar for KC. They up-charge a flat fee of $1.25 for nondairy milks, for each drink, even cortados (2oz). If you got a non-dairy cortado twice a week, you’d be spending an extra $10/ month on 16oz of nondairy milk. It’s unfair to people of color who are largely lactose intolerant. They should include plant based milks into their general pricing. Go to Blip Coffee Roasters, Oddly Correct, or PH Coffee to skip the rake.
I brought a tour group (bachelorette party) on a coffee tour and this stop was perfect. We were there for the Roasterie’s 30th anniversary celebration so we tasted their Birthday Cake Latte. The outside patio is perfect for a larger group, or if you’re bringing your dog out for a pup cup. Friendly staff.
Discovered today the secret that most Kansas Citians who love coffee already know: the Roasterie is a solid choice for those who love good coffee and pastries. Ordered a cortado and a couple pastries. The cortado was perfect, accompanied by a carbonated mineral water and a small disc of André’s espresso chocolate, gratis. There was a problem with pastry (not as described), and despite the snafu (for which the barista offered everything from a replacement to a refund), I was ecstatic with the experience. The pastry I did have was delectable (all the pastries in the house were provided by the exemplary folks at Ibis), and the service over and above.
