Someone gave us an Ann and Allen Gooey Butter Cake they bought at Straub's. Being from St. Louis I am a big time lover of a good, good being the operative word since there are so many out there that just aren't. Well, this cake is the best, and I mean the best gooey butter cake I've ever had. I was not close to a Straub's yesterday, Christmas Eve Day, so I drove by Park Ave Coffee on Columbia where they had both the regular and tripple chocolate cakes since we were spending Xmas in Collinsville. Both were devoured even though many desserts were there. Everyone agreed. I will certainly be stopping at Straub's before we leave for Florida to take a few home. The service at the coffee shop was perfect and even talked with the owner, Dale, because I wanted to tell him how much I loved the cake. It's his mother's recipe. Great guy, but then, who wouldn't be when your giving compliments. ;)
Came here to try the gooey butter cake and the regular cake did not disappoint. The flavors were good(we tried red velvet and chocolate raspberry) but I would stick with original
Loved park avenue coffee! Would highly recommend the Carmel macchiato and gooey butter cake. We will definitely stop in next time we visit St. Louis.
Amazing coffee and great blueberry muffin! Love the sustainable approach! This place is fantastic and we were really lucky to stumble across it while in the area. I will definitely be back! The staff was extremely friendly and efficient.
This is a cool little coffee shop with a bakery cabinet (great distinctive baked goods). Has like a nouveau industrial feel to it. You can also purchase their bagged coffee. There's also a pleasant patio for summer sipping.
