Tried Momi Indian in Green Lake for takeout. I called in the order and it was ready in about 30 minutes, so pickup was easy. We got the curry leaf chicken and the Vijayawada special boneless Chicken biryani at medium spice. The spice level was manageable, and the flavors were good. Although, both dishes felt pretty greasy, almost like they were cooked with a heavy oil, which made them feel a bit heavy to eat. The portions also seemed a little less for the price. The place itself has decent seating and looks comfortable if you’re dining in. Overall, the food was flavorful but the greasiness and portion size made my experience just okay.
Food is tasty and has good kick of spice. We picked medium, spice level, spice started building up, we ended up putting about half of food into to-go box. We are not familiar about Indian food. We wish they have more information and ingredients about their food other than names. A server is friendly and she tries to help my boyfriend when he started sweating. That's his usual reaction for spices. We appreciate it her thoughtful cates.
Tldr: subpar racist service. Inconsistent food. First of all, biryani was delicious. 1st time I went the service was okayish but the food was amazing. But after this time, I don't think I'll go there again. 1. For 2 servings of biryani, there was literally 5 small spoons of very watery raita. 2. Asked for the waiter, waited for 5 minutes before they got to us, asked for another serving of raita(2$ for 5 watery spoons) and waited for 10 minutes, had to ask for it again after which I waited 5 more minutes. 3. There were, I counted, 2 paneer pieces in the 2 servings of biryani. 4. Everyone(white and south Indian folks) who arrive after us got water, we had to ask for water 3 times before we got any. 5. Witnessed that they gave the wrong order to a table and the table said they did not order any of it, they picked it up gave the same food to another table.
This is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Seattle! I’ve picked up food as well as dined in and the food has been great each time. Really enjoyed the Malai Kofta, Garlic Naan, Chilli Paneer, Chicken Biriyani and Samosas. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. Highly recommend checking this place out!
I’ve been to Momi twice now and have loved it each time. The food is delicious and the service is great. Well priced, huge portions, yummy food. Will definitely come back and highly recommend!
