I am visiting Chapel Hill for a month and needed a place to work. I am in love with La Vita Dolce! I tried three different sandwiches and all were delicious. I ordered the Cuban Latte and I'm obsessed. The gelato is magnifico! It's a quiet and friendly atmosphere, and I'm grateful they allowed me to sit there for hours on my laptop. I'm going to miss this place so much when I leave!
My wife and I come here at least once a week and we love it. Wonderful ambiance, friendly staff, great drinks. They rotate their gelato flavors regularly and they have such creative flavors. Their coffee is great on its own, but you gotta try the seasonal specialty drinks (Nutella Hot Mocha?? yes PLEASE). Do yourself a favor and visit this charming little cafe!
Perfect place to spend some time on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Great vibes and some cool spots to sit and chat. The service is super slow though. I initially ordered the Matcha latte and i hated it. But they were kind enough to give me a Chai latte instead and it was great.
Place: Cute coffee shop with creamy gelato. They are not speedy fast like some cafe’s but that also means the food is fresh and not rushed. My sandwich was served very hot which I guess is nice for to go. I ordered to go to eat on the swing bench on the side walk by the mural next door. Experience: They had a nice seasonal menu of drinks. Their coffee is strong, which I see many loving while I myself don’t want to taste it at all- I recommend a different drink if you’re like me. Also, they offer diary alternatives like oatmilk which is great! Staff were nice and their indoor seating was cozy. Outdoor seating is also really nice for a small cafe. Critique: My total was $30 after tipping ($16.50 sandwich + $8 drink + tax & tip) , which is pretty steep- the sandwich and latte pricing is pretty steep for their quality in my opinion- La Farm is well- farm to table and cheaper. I love capreses but for the one of the pricier menu options- it fell short in taste. They boast about the quality of their coffee beans and their housemade gelato- but the food ingredients are not very descriptive. At this price - I expect elevated quality in ingredients like farm to table, house made sauces, organic, etc, which may be the case, but if so- needs to be advertised!
The best thing here is the gelato. It’s super high end. Smoothies >$7 latte >$7. Served in to go cups. Not a ton of natural lighting, but some seating decent for working. The gelato is really nice actually, esp spicy mango. Some outdoor seating. I have had their smoothies and one of their lattes, Rocky Mountain latte. I asked for less sweet and it was still too sweet to finish.
