Crema's Take

Nestled in Seattle's bustling touristy corridor, Chaco is a hidden gem that elevates tea culture with an impressive selection of loose leaf teas and creative signature drinks like the fragrant Jasmine Silk Latte and the intriguing Phoenix Oolong Latte. The welcoming staff, including standout baristas like Karen, craft thoughtfully balanced drinks without excessive sweetness, while the gallery-like space filled with local art and sculptures invites you to linger and explore. Whether you're warming up from a street walk or diving deep into a proper kung fu tea experience, this is a destination for tea lovers seeking something more intentional than your typical café.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stopped in to warm up after walking in from the street and really enjoyed checking out the surrounding art and sculptures. Karen behind the counter was amazing and made me a 12oz oat milk latte with no soy and no sugar to accommodate my dietary restrictions with a cost of $7.18. We had such a great conversation! Karen’s smile lit up the whole space, she was incredibly kind, and she even shared some wonderful hiking recommendations and stories about Seattle. Overall, this was a beautiful stop along my travels, and my experience was truly wonderful. Thank you, The Traveling Truck Show 🌟

Was very looking forward to the Phoenix Oolong Latte (Crimson Mist) but unfortunately misheard the staff’s question and got the hot tea instead. I wish I did try the latte and now I am just sad. The salty pastry is good. Friendly staff, nice vibe.

This cafe only makes sense if you’re getting the Kung fu tea (pure loose leaf tea). The popular Jasmin silk latte is fragrant but it lacks the characteristic creaminess that a milk tea has and that boba chains get right. It tastes really just like mixing a tea bag with milk at home, which I comforting but maybe I can save $7 for. The jasmine latte at Heytea a couple blocks over is so much more fragrant, for example. But it’s a cute local place tucked away in the plaza with indoor and outdoor seating. They don’t have free tastings or samples everyday fyi so I didn’t get to try their other teas. Overall it’s a 3.5/5 for me.

This café offers an impressively large variety of teas, all of which are truly delicious. I was lucky enough to visit during a tea tasting, and it was so good that I naturally came back to enjoy more tea. They also serve excellent coffee, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The location is perfect near Space Needle and it’s quiet, stylish, and very comfortable. The staff is friendly and attentive. A truly wonderful place, 100% recommended.

Chaco replaced the previous boba place, Milkvue. It's definitely a hidden gem in a touristy area. We got an iced jasmine matcha latte and an amber drift latte. Both were very good, not too sweet at all, even without any adjustments. They had little samples of different drinks and were kind enough to explain the different teas. The atmosphere was also quite calming. The music wasn't too loud, making it a great place to work. One thing to keep in mind is that they’re largely a tea house so their pastry options are very limited and honestly didn’t look too great. edit: The coconut Lavendar matcha was definitely not for me
