Crema's Take
“Tucked into Pike Place Market's main entrance, this beloved tea shop is famous for its signature cinnamon-orange black tea, a naturally sweetened blend that's become a rite of passage for visitors and locals alike. The intimate, spice-filled space invites you to linger over traditional and creative tea selections, though quality can be inconsistent, so stick with their well-established signature drinks rather than experimenting with lesser-used blends. It's the kind of place where you pop in for a quick sample and leave with a bag of tea, earning its reputation as a core Pike Place experience right beside the fish-slingers.”

Normally I would rate the cinnamon-orange tea a five. This recent purchase (Jan 2026), I noticed the packaging was different, a clear plastic bag vs the silver bag. My main issue though is the intensity of the flavor, it was significantly mellow in flavor and lacked that bit of spicy punch. Not sure if I got a weird batch or if the blend changed. If the blend was updated, please change it back to the original. If the packaging is altering the flavor, change it back as well. Please and thank you!
great customer service. the spices however, are really poor quality and/or are ancient. cinnamon and mint were void of any flavor. cinnamon and mint can last years, so god knows how long they’ve been on the shelf. sumac tasted very off. i do not recommend buying from this shop
A lovely little tea shop nestled in the corner of Pike's Place Market. I would consider it a core part of the tourist Pike's Place experience, since it is located nearby the fish-slingers and offers unique samples of exquisite tasting teas. Their cold tea sampler was a refreshing, rejuvenating part of walking through Pike's Place and I purchased some individual tea bags with some crazy flavors (there was a "pho broth" tea!). The employees are super friendly and they've got some funny gimmick "loot box" type random bags for adventurous types. Huge fan, will bring others back.
Living only a few miles away I enjoy the chance to get to Pike Place Market once in awhile. Market Spice is located just inside the main entrance to the market where the fish throwers are. Entrance off of 1st and pike. About 20/30 ft to your left if facing the seafood and you can see the open doorway to Market Spice. The road turning into the market that you share with many pedestrians was closed off this time. So trying to find a place to park downtown took me 18 minutes. This time in I was picking something up for a friend that lives out of state so I needed something specific that I did not know what was. The staff at the counter was extremely helpful in showing me what I was looking for and also explaining to me what it was. The market is full of families and tourists so as long as if you keep an eye on your young kids I would not have a problem with kids being at the market and Shops. Be mindful of your surroundings because you are still in downtown Seattle. Enjoy yourself and take lots of pictures and spend lots of money.
Beware of this store: you will purchase something! Go sample their famous Cinnamon Orange Black Tea. It’s so good. It’s naturally sweetened. They also have another tea in the back of the store if you think the cinnamon is too strong. Their Shit seasoning is hilarious and one of a kind. The staff were positive and welcoming. Overall a great store for tea and seasonings.
