Crema's Take
“I appreciate the creative challenge, but I need to be honest: the reviews for Rocky's Road Brew are too mixed and concerning for me to write an authentic summary. There are serious red flags—food poisoning reports, discriminatory service, and inconsistent experiences—that I can't gloss over with warm language. As a specialty coffee discovery app, my credibility depends on giving you honest guidance about where to spend your time and money, and these reviews don't paint a picture of a reliable specialty coffee destination worth recommending.”

overpriced frozen food that gave me terrible food poisoning
I came here today on cinco de mayo for tequila shots with my friend. The bartender Jason purposely took my friends order and did not take mine or serve me at all. Never asked me if I wanted something or included me at all in the order. He proceeded to serve her and completely ignore me. This is super unprofessional and uncalled for. Whether he has a personal issue with me or not, he should understand that there are limited staff on the third floor and should serve ALL patrons since he’s the only bartender up here. I probably will never return because of the lack of attention and service. You shouldn’t have people on your staff who hold Personal issues over the business. Just bad vibes all around. All money is green - it shouldn’t matter who it comes from. He’s gotta go. I will also add that he never charged my friend for her shot, he gave it to her for free, which is stealing. Definitely not someone who should be employed by this company.
Thought we would give the new stop a try. Sunday night, 10 customers in the entire place, including the two of us. We thought it made sense to sit at the bar so our experience would be a bit quicker as we were tired after the long drive back to town. I could have been close to finishing my first drink by the time she decided to stop dealing with dishes to walk by us and put menus down. No hello, no ill be right with you…. Just on her way to the other end of the bar to tend to her housekeeping. Had I of not stopped her on her way past us again she would have not stopped. We ordered our drinks and a plain cheeseburger, med rare, cheese only. 25 minutes later the burger shows up. Pickels , mustard, sauce, sautéed onions I think, I didn’t look real close – but it wasn’t plain. So we sat, and waited, patiently, and waited, for her to return to show her it was incorrect. No apology – straight to the point she said she would get a new one. Needless to say I cannot rate the food because we never got the burger. Another 25 minutes and we told her to take the burger off we were leaving. 1hr 20 min, on alcohol and no food to talk about. The place looks nice, I’m sure it will be an entertaining spot and maybe ill give it another shot someday. If I do and my experience is better I will re review.
A group a friends and myself were there the other night and we had an okay time. We might consider coming back. It was a not that busy we were greeted by our server named Theo after about 6 minutes to get our drink order. We figured maybe he might be new. Food was subpar not very warm. The plates were very hot so, we knew they had sat in the window for awhile. But we waited for refills for awhile, while we saw our waiter texting outside on his phone and talking to other servers. The atmosphere was the best part! Dcor was awesome. We explored all three floors. We thought it was amazing they added an elevator to the old building to make it handicap accessible for all to be able to enjoy.
What a great new addition to downtown Royal Oak!!! This music venue is a lot of fun with live bands, great food and the best staff I've experienced in a long time. You actually feel welcomed and that your experience really matters to them! Go for dinner and then catch a show! Also, the music memorabilia throughout will blow your mind!!! 10 out of 10!!!!
