Chloe is the best, really takes the time to get to know people. My order was about to be messed up (too sweet), but she's so used to my edits that she caught it before it was too late. It's those little things that can really reinforce customer loyalty and which don't always get noticed and appreciated by the business, especially in a busy place like that. So thank you!

I had a comfortable, no-frills experience here. The setting felt neat and easygoing, and the overall mood stayed relaxed. The staff handled things efficiently without making the visit feel overly structured. There were no surprises or issues that caught my attention. It was the kind of visit that didn’t require much thought, which I appreciated.

I hope I’m spelling her name correctly, because she deserves to be recognized. She carries herself with such kindness and genuine warmth that even on tough days, she somehow finds a way to brighten my mood. There have been moments when I walked into the Understory feeling heavy, tired, or mentally drained—and the simple act of ordering coffee from her shifted my entire day. Her smile is infectious, her spirit is uplifting, and she always meets you with joy and intention. And it’s not just her. The whole Boomtown team embodies the same energy. They’re consistently friendly, present, and willing to make sure you’re taken care of. They don’t just serve coffee—they create a feeling. A little reset in the middle of downtown. A moment of peace before you dive back into your work. A reminder that kindness still exists in everyday places. Boomtown has become a grounding part of my Understory experience. When I’m typing away on my laptop, catching my breath between tasks, or flowing in the creative zone, it just feels right having a cup from Boomtown next to me. Their presence adds to the vibe of the entire space. To anyone working in the Understory daily, passing through for business, or visiting Houston as a tourist—I highly recommend stopping by Boomtown Coffee. Not just for the brew, but for the people. This place is a little hard to find, but it’s pretty cute once you do. You have to go into the building with multiple little shops. The coffee is pretty basic and not anything spectacular. I ordered a sweet coffee and it tasted like bean water. The workers are friendly but that’s about it. It was a normal higher priced coffee shop that wasn’t that great.
