Olives Gourmet Grocer

I ordered the Mac and cheese for a Friendsgiving and it was delicious. Delightful. Amazing. Compliments galore to the chef and that recipe. The small shells collected all the cheese. The crunchy corners were perfection. 100% recommend. I ordered a half tray which was the perfect size for the group of about 15.

My friend brought me here after class as he had been recommended to come try the food here. I had never heard of it or seen it but was excited to go as I had been craving sandwiches lately and what better place to get one than at a deli. We both ordered a spicy steve and while we waited for our food, we walked around the store. It had a very quaint vibe, which I really enjoyed, as the shelves were lined with all kinds of neat food and ingredients not typically found at corporate grocery stores. Also, even though it was really busy and there was a line of people when we went in, the workers were all super kind and all smiles. The spicy steve was incredibly delicious. I savored every last bite of it. It was not too much, not too little and had a lovely presentation, neatly wrapped in paper. The sandwich did not fall apart on me and stayed in tact the entire time I ate it, which I feel like is rare with sandwiches haha. It was simply perfect. One thing I liked a lot about it was the bread they used, which looked and tasted like foccacia but I am not too sure. Anyway, it was so soft and warm and really sealed the deal for me. I would love to come back and try some of the other sandwiches on their menu or maybe even some of the deli food they have like the salads. It all looks delicious and I have a feeling it probably is.

Firstly, I love specialty grocers, especially small businesses. This place is awesome! I was visiting the area and stepped in out of curiosity. Was a little wary from the reviews saying service could be "off" sometimes, but the guy who helped me was extremely kind and happy to answer my questions. Had high hopes for the sandwiches but personally I would say they are just ok. The produce selection is a little meh but I suppose that's not the highlight. Bottom line -- definitely stopping in when I am in the neighborhood again.

I met a guy on a cruise ship in the Bahamas that spoke highly of Olives Gourmet Grocer. Having lived in Long Beach for over a decade, I was surprised I have never visited the place. This is a super cute deli market with fresh sandwiches, some bakery items, and other deli stuff. The sandwich was freshly made and they got daily specials.

OMG!!!! The food is EXCELLENT!!! Freshly made bread is used for the sandwiches, there are so many options on the menu that I wanted! It was so hard to choose! The roast beef sandwich was amazing!!! The entire place is well organized and set up in such a thoughtful way! My friend and I met for lunch and really enjoyed the outdoor seating! The neighborhood was pretty quiet so we could enjoy good conversation and company! We shared a slice Olive oil cake and it was superb!!!! It kind of tasted like lemon scone meets pound cake with a nice light whipped cream on top 🤤💘 The drink selection was abundant!!! I am not a wine drinker, but they have a lot of options regarding wine, beer, kombucha, sodas, water, etc. Absolutely positively recommend!!! 💯💯💯🎯
