Steel Cup Café
2201 Lakewood Blvd, Long Beach, CA
Crema's Take
“This understated Long Beach gem delivers genuinely excellent espresso and thoughtfully crafted specialty drinks, from perfectly balanced matcha lattes to carefully pulled shots that customers consistently praise for quality and freshness. Beyond the coffee, their made-to-order food—especially the restaurant-quality breakfast burritos and fresh pastries—makes it worth seeking out despite its unassuming plaza location, creating the kind of spot where locals linger for both the carefully sourced beverages and the welcoming atmosphere.”

Quaint little coffee spot. Coffee selection is great, hot and the quality of the coffee is pretty awesome! Baked goodies at the counter are always good. The Food is also pretty fresh and made to order, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent cup of coffee. Staff is friendly.
The food and coffee are nothing to brag about. I got the avocado toast and they put the mushrooms on the bottom most layer which makes the toast super soggy. The side salad is just chopped iceberg lettuce and three chunks of diced tomato with bottled dressing. The coffee was nothing special either. It’s overpriced for the quality of food and drink you’re getting. It’s a nice place to work at and the employees are super nice but I suggest fueling up somewhere else before coming here to work.
We finally checked this coffee shop off our list of places to try and we're so glad we did. The plaza they're a part of is unassuming so I really hope all these positive reviews will help someone else find the Steel Cup Cafe. Food was great. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with mushrooms and my husband had the burrito with chorizo. The cafe also offers meat substitute as a protein option, which is great for someone like me that is avoiding pork. Our drinks tasted great and the vibe was very chill in an effortless industrial-chic setting. I highly recommend this place for small brunch parties. We had a great first impression and will be coming back.
I stopped by and got a matcha latte with whole milk. It was delicious and a great start to my late day. The matcha was subtle green tea taste and the honey sweetener was perfect. Overall it was a solid hot drink for the day. I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.
It hurts to spend more than $15 on a burrito but oh my goodness these burritos are delicious! Their Brunch Burrito is restaurant quality, dare I say, even better than a lot of restaurants that are known for their breakfast menu. Their house made chorizo is really impressive, like how many cafes do that in the area? I just love that this cafe serves more than just pastries and sandwiches, they have a great food selection and plenty of outlets. I don't mind that they serve their drinks in disposable cups, but it'd be nice to drink a latte out of a hot mug when dining in. I've only been here in the morning. Music isn't too loud, plenty of seating and outlets, nice staff, and there's a self serve cold water dispenser. Top quality products here for sure!
