Crema's Take

This beloved Bellingham spot excels at the crepe experience in all its forms, from decadent sweet versions to deeply savory preparations like Turkish Çilbir that locals rave about, paired with thoughtfully executed sides like breakfast pierogis. The warm, unhurried atmosphere draws families and friends for lingering morning meals, where the cafe's attention to quality ingredients—particularly standout yogurt and pastries—creates the kind of breakfast destination people plan visits around.

Owner/Manager, Please rethink your mandatory gratuity policy for takeout orders. Your restaurant is one of our family favorites for savory crepes. Your other dishes are fantastic too. However, on our recent visit we decided to eat across the way in the park area instead of dine-in. We had a couple of dogs and the weather was nice so we wanted to eat outside. Our group was made up of seven family members and friends. After we had all ordered and everyone left I was shocked that I still had to pay a 20% gratuity even though we weren't dining-in, which amounted to $30 more on the total cost. Why? If I had known, we could have divided up into our own little subgroups to avoid this fixed charge. It doesn't seem right to charge that much due to the lack of service. On the receipt it says, "Table of 5 Gratuity". Note that it literally says "Table", which to me implies dining-in at a table where upon we would have benefited from your service. Does the gratuity policy apply for traditional takeout as well? I have neither experienced this anywhere or heard of this from anyone else. I hope you change it.

Absolutely amazing! I got the Turkish Çilbir and it was honestly the top breakfast I’ve ever had. The yogurt will shock you… in a good way. We also got the breakfast pierogis and also so good! But the Çilbir was top notch!

We had such a lovely experience! The food was absolutely delicious, I had a sweet crêpe dish and my husband opted for a more savory crêpe. Our waitress was kind and there was a very short wait from when we ordered to when we got our meals. The restaurant itself was very cute and had a nice, casual atmosphere. This was such a great way to end our Bellingham getaway!

My family and I stopped in for breakfast and had a lovely experience. We ordered a variety of food including both sweet and savory dishes and all agreed it was delicious. A couple of us also ordered the mulled wine, which was perfect alongside our breakfast. Our server was polite and fast, checking in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. All in all it was a great experience and we will be back again!

Our friends took us to Magdalena’s for breakfast and it immediately became one of our favorite restaurants. Truly excellent food. We don’t live in Bellingham and every time we come through town we now make a point of stopping here. Every dish we’ve tried has been good. (The #9, the #1 buckwheat crepe, the Turkish cilbir, and the daily soup are special favorites.) The food is filling without being heavy, and tastes fresh and flavorful. Magdalena herself is a dear, and she is attentive and caring to every customer. Her care shines through the food. Don’t miss this place.
