Blue Bottle Coffee - Oakland

Exceedingly Rare Taiwan COE #5 Ching Ye Coffee Estate - this coffee was fantastic! Yes, it’s an expensive cup of coffee, but the quality of the coffee bean is certainly extraordinary - very smooth, clean, and complex coffee. The floral and fruity notes of the coffee were right on and you can taste it as you sip on the coffee. Definitely no milk or sugar should be added so you can enjoy the flavor of the coffee as it is. They currently are also doing a special on cherry blossom latte and it’s the best cherry blossom latte and drink that I’ve had so far having since had them from specialty drink stores in San Diego, to Boston, to New York, and to Washington D.C. during Cherry blossom festival.

Great tasting cold brew. The interior of the cafe is spotless, almost lab-like. There is convenient paid public parking at the back of the building.

This Piedmont location of Blue Bottle is fantastic! You can’t go wrong with Blue Bottle coffee, the quality has consistently remained high and every cafe has such a warm organic aesthetic to it. This branch is no different! My cold brew was delicious and made a team of friendly baristas. Inside the cafe has lots of natural light at this location and a fair amount of seating. I was blessed to grab a private booth but there is also an amazing shared table near the front that faces the street. The location is great as it’s near other major shops and plenty of parking options if you drive here. Vibes are great, music was chill, and my only complaint would be the WiFi was slow.

Fantastic coffee. The mocha is rich and flavorful without tasting like a pump syrup. There a strong but pleasant coffee flavor. Iced black cardamom latte was one of the best I’ve had. Same pleasant coffee flavor. They use large ice cubes which keep it cold and don’t get in the way as you drink.

I absolutely adore this place and all the staff who work here. The space is so nice and clean in true Blue Bottle style. But being on Piedmont Avenue makes it the perfect spot for a quiet morning read or chat with a friend. The staff are so caring about the quality of every drink that comes off the bar and making sure customers are happy. I love hearing the baristas chat behind the bar about what flavor notes are standing out with each coffee today and seeing them be proud of and passionate about their craft. Since I usually sit down inside and have plenty of time, they frequently ask me “Do you mind waiting a little bit? I just really want to get this coffee dialed in perfectly for you and it’s not quite there”. Whenever there’s a new coffee on rotation they assure me that if I don’t love it they’ll make me another one. Finally I should be clear that the coffee is also absolutely superb, every single time. I think Blue Bottle does a great job at training staff in general so I just wanted to really highlight what makes this particular location special ☺️🌟
