Rocket Bakery
1301 W 14th Ave, Spokane, WA
Crema's Take
“This beloved neighborhood fixture excels at creating a genuinely cozy gathering space where you'll find consistently excellent pastries (their sugar cookies and berry scones are standouts) alongside both traditional and specialty coffee drinks. The charm of the older building combined with genuinely friendly staff makes it feel less like a coffee chain and more like a local living room, and regulars keep coming back for the reliable quality across multiple South Hill and downtown locations.”

I've always had a positive experience at each of the Rocket Bakery locations. I've ordered a variety of different things to eat and always been pleased. I like the cozy warm atmosphere, too.
Love this bakery and coffee shop. I like the sugar cookies and turkey wedge the best, my darling likes the pasta and says it's hit or miss, sometimes there's enough seasoning and sometimes not. Try an Italian red bull with huckleberry, pomegranate, raspberry, and coconut milk. It's amazing.
Rocket Bakery makes wonderful cakes that we so far have only found for sale at other businesses. The available food at both the South Hill and downtown location have exclusively pre-made individual baked items (like scones & cookies) and a few wraps and tiny frittatas, all of which are individually wrapped in plastic. You can get coffee, and you can opt to eat there, but the food will still be plastic-wrapped portions and might be marginally warm if you ask to have it microwaved. Not recommended if you're looking to go out for breakfast. (Have not been to the other locations.)
I’ve been a couple times to this location and it feels like a neighborhood spot. They have a good selection of pastries from the bakery. I like the whole wheat apple cranberry muffin. The berry scone is good too. Coffee is solid and I enjoyed my cappuccino. I really like the neighborhood vibe.
I don’t know if this is the best Coffee shop in Spokane but it’s certainly my favorite. I love the old building and neighborhood charm, plus, the people who work here are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to get to know the regulars. Their bakery is amazing and I’ll admit to having to show a lot of restraint to not buy everything in the case. My go-to is the Almond Poppy muffin but that’s just one of the great options. Seating is ample for a small shop and street parking is easy and free, which is a big asset in my book. My parents live close by so it’s an easy walk here when I’m in town but I would drive across the City to come here if they lived in a different location. Give this place a try, and if you don’t like it for some unexplained reason, then it’s just more coffee and pastries for me!
