Crema's Take

While Rune Juicery specializes in smoothies and smoothie bowls rather than traditional coffee, their creative plant-based offerings deserve attention if you're seeking a specialty beverage experience in Cincinnati. The team behind the counter—particularly owners Caleb and Randall—craft unusually thoughtful flavor combinations like rose water bowls and peanut butter protein drinks that feel more like culinary creations than quick refreshments, earning consistent praise from regulars who visit for the quality and uniqueness. The bright, welcoming space works equally well for a solo moment or meeting a friend, and their light food options (including a memorable Honey Sriracha Bagel) round out an experience that prioritizes thoughtfulness and care.

It’s actually the best smoothie I ever had. They let me do the peanut butter protein smoothie into a bowl. Added strawberries! Divine

Rune is such a great juice/vegan food option in the area! Caleb and Randall are just the best and so great at what they do. I will say you want to go into the experience with the mindset of quality slow food, this is not a fast food experience by any means and that’s what makes it great, but if you’re on a time crunch just plan ahead and order ahead for pickup. My 7 year old is obsessed with the blue mylk (I can’t remember the exact name) juice and my go to order is a “cottage core” bagel and “almond tree” smoothie. They make their own sweet potato brownies, cashew cream cheese, and kale chips and all are TO DIE FOR. The cream cheese I like to get by the container and it’s good on so many things. Grateful to have a healthy food option to support and I feel cared for by the quality of food/smoothies they provide always.

The rose water smoothie bowl is the best smoothie bowl I’ve encountered, and I eat smoothies every other day. It’s light and fresh, and reminds me of Arabic food. The cherry smoothie was a great blend between sweet and tart. Also got a blueberry muffin, very nutrient dense, not too sweet. All the food is super healthy here, and you are supporting a small business owner. The interior layout has 2 tables you can sit indoors and the place was moderately busy. I almost wish I could keep this gem of a place a secret to myself but anyone who likes smoothies should absolutely try this place out.

Such a cute shop! The owner was super kind and knowledgeable, the space was bright and clean, and everything we tried was delicious (especially the Honey Sriracha Bagel). Looking forward to making another stop here!
